Just last month I got done with the most gruesome exam I have had to take in my entire medical career. Post graduation and specializing is no joke in the field of medicine, Phew! (almost) Phew!
In bengali we have a saying that goes "শেষ হয়েও হইলো না শেষ," which when translated to English in the simplest of terms means "It's not over yet."
A much deserved break!
And hence, Almost phew! No matter how much we grind out, there's always that next big step. But this time around, after I passed after what I felt was a pretty abysmal exam, I let out a pretty big "Phew!" It was partly maybe because it was a little unexpected (I was dreading the worst), partly because I felt the preparation for this step of the exam had stretched me to my limits - tested my grit to the fullest and I felt a break was due! A much deserved break.
While I knew there was the final step still looming over my head, I was secretly thinking of slacking off for like...I don't know, Half a Year maybe!!! Straight off the top of my head I probably knew that wasn't going to be a wise decision - but I was trying to get comfortable! Too comfortable and I was coming up with all sorts of excuses to delay getting, well...uncomfortable.
The promise of Luxury that Crypto brought!
It's sort of a well know fact to those I talk to regularly on the chain that I have been paying the bills largely off of my crypto earnings and that's all fantastic and everything. But I have bigger plans.
And it goes something like this. If I can pay the bills with my day job, the the earnings from crypto can become a source of luxury, and savings! Now while I do not endorse confusing luxury with a lavish lifestyle, I do believe if we are not getting ourselves any of the things we really want and enjoy with the money we have extra, then why are we even earning the money at all!
For crypto to fulfil it's promises of luxury, my day job has to live up to it's own expectation and that involves getting through these hurdles, known as exams. The sooner I get it done, the sooner crypto starts to do what I expect it to do for me.
If that means Getting Uncomfortable sooner, so be it!
And with that on the horizon, I'm off to pull the trigger!
As @jongolson said recently, we need to "embrace being uncomfortable!"
