Getting to know American Pool
The design and decoration of a business directly influences its success and will depend on the service it provides and also on the potential customers. Before starting a business we must think about its location and the customers we want to attract, so it is essential to work with people who know about this and are professionally engaged in interior design or have knowledge in the area.

El diseño y decoración de un negocio influye directamente en el éxito del mismo y va a depender del servicio que presté y también de los potenciales clientes. Antes de iniciar un negocio debemos pensar en su ubicación y los clientes que queremos atraer, por eso es fundamental trabajar con personas que sepan de esto y se dediquen profesionalmente al diseño de interiores o que tengas conocimientos en el área.
If our business is related to recreation and fun, the time when our mind feels more willing to enjoy is at dusk or at night and if our customers are young it is best to give them a night environment, but if we want to open in the morning what can we do, there are things we can change as the lighting and the color of the walls and no one will notice the difference in day or night hours, being even a strategy for the customer to forget the time and want to stay for more hours.
That is exactly what happened to me when I went to a meeting with friends to play pool at America Pool, it is a business located on Bolivar Avenue in the city of Maracay, Aragua state, Venezuela, next to the IUTA which is a university institute, and students are its potential customers, the place has a discreet entrance that does not take away the prominence of the institute, on the same sidewalk next to it is a door with stairs inviting you to go up to a higher level.
Si nuestro negocio se relaciona con la recreación y diversión, el horario en que nuestra mente se siente más dispuesta al disfrute es al caer la tarde o en la noche y si nuestros clientes son jóvenes lo mejor es darles un ambiente nocturno, pero y ¿si queremos abrir desde la mañana que podemos hacer?, hay cosas que podemos cambiar como la iluminación y el color de las paredes y nadie notará la diferencia de horarios diurnos o nocturnos, siendo hasta una estrategia para que el cliente se olvide del tiempo y quiera permanecer por más horas.
Justamente eso es lo que me pasó cuando fui a un encuentro con amigos a jugar pool a América Pool, es un negocio ubicado en la Avenida Bolívar en la ciudad de Maracay, estado Aragua, Venezuela, al lado del IUTA que es un instituto universitario, y los estudiantes vienen siendo sus clientes potenciales, el local tiene una entrada discreta que no le quita protagonismo al instituto, en su misma acera al lado está una puerta con unas escaleras invitando a subir a un nivel superior.
When I went, I expected to find a big sign with neon lights or something, but there was nothing. In fact, I had to ask two young men where the pool was and they pointed me to the entrance, as I felt disoriented, I forgot to take the photo of the entrance. It was 11 a.m. and it was bright sunshine outside and very hot, but as I entered I felt in another dimension, in the blink of an eye, it was already night and it was very cool.
The supposed night was due to the decoration, it was not for lack of lights because the place is well lit, but because of the colors and the illumination itself gave the illusion that night had fallen. The lead gray walls and blue tables had a lot to do with it. The store was packed when I arrived, I wanted to check it everywhere, but I preferred to play and share with my friends and wait for it to get a little unoccupied, as it happened 3 hours later.
Cuando fui, esperaba encontrar un anuncio grande con luces de neón o algo así, pero no había nada. De hecho, tuve que preguntar a dos jóvenes dónde estaba el pool y me señalaron la entrada, como me sentí desorientada, olvidé sacar la foto de la entrada. Eran las 11 a. m. y había un sol radiante afuera y mucho calor, pero al entrar me sentí en otra dimensión, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, ya era de noche y había mucho fresco.
La supuesta noche se debe a la decoración, no era por falta de luces porque el lugar está bien iluminado, sino por los colores y la misma iluminación daban la ilusión de haber caído la noche. Las paredes de gris plomo y las mesas azules tenían mucho que ver. El negocio estaba repleto cuando llegué, quería revisarlo por todas partes, pero preferí jugar y compartir con mis amigos y esperar a que se desocupara un poco, como sucedió 3 horas después.
Already at lunch time and when the young college students must return home, American Pool is left alone and available for another group of people a little older, heh, heh, heh contemporary adults arrive at about 2 pm until midnight, since the working hours are from 11 am until 12 midnight and if there are still people who want to continue playing they stay open, so informed me the manager of the place, while they canceled some goodies for him.
Ya en la hora del almuerzo y cuando los jóvenes universitarios deben volver a su casa, American Pool queda en solitario y disponible para otro grupo de personas un poco mayores, je, je, je los adultos contemporáneos llegan a eso de las 2 pm hasta la media noche, ya que el horario de trabajo es desde las 11 a.m hasta las 12 de la noche y si todavía hay personas que quieren seguir jugando se mantienen abiertos, así me informó el administrador del lugar, mientras le cancelaban algunas golosinas.
Description of the place
I will start with the roof, which is white so that the lights reflect better. It has a base of structural tubes and acerolit in it are modern lamps that can move in different directions. The ceiling and lighting changes in the food and bar area. They have various kinds of national and international liquors and sweet and savory treats, snacks and hamburgers, hot dogs and so on.
The separation of the environment changes in a friendly way, but it is perfectly distinguished, with other furniture with square wooden tables in black borders and large gray sofas, very comfortable to rest.
Descripción del lugar
Empezaré por el techo que es de color blanco para que las luces se reflejen mejor. Tiene una base de tubos estructurales y acerolit en él están unas lámparas modernas que se pueden mover en diferentes direcciones. El techo y la iluminación cambian en la zona de la comida y el bar. Tienen varios tipos de licores nacionales e internacionales y golosinas dulces y saladas, aperitivos y hamburguesas, perros calientes y demás.
La separación del ambiente cambia de forma amigable, pero se distingue perfectamente, con otro mobiliario con mesas de madera cuadradas en bordes negros y sofás grises grandes, muy cómodo para descansar.
The protagonists are the pool tables, I did not get to count them, but I know there are more than 10 in different sizes. The floor is also gray ceramic or anti-slip material, I imagine that, for safety, no one will want to have a table neighbor who falls with the stick in his hand.
In the final part, there are two tables that caught my attention, they have stopwatches and on the top towards the ceiling there is a rope with some numbers I don't know what they mean. This area is decorated with a large TV and two walls full of photographs I imagine of personalities of this sport or world championships.
Las protagonistas son las mesas de pool, no llegué a contarlas, pero sé que son más de 10 en diferentes tamaños. El piso también es gris de cerámicas o de material antiresbalante, me imagino que, por seguridad, nadie querrá tener un vecino de mesa que se caiga con el palo en la mano.
En parte final, hay dos mesas que llamaron mi atención, tienen cronometros y en la parte de arriba hacia el techo hay una cuerda con algunos números no sé que significaran. Esta zona esta decorada con un televisor grande y dos paredes llenas de fotografías me imagino que de personalidades de este deporte o de campeonatos mundiales.
As for the bathrooms, they have two genders, men and women, on the outside they look very nice with a wall full of artificial grass that gives a fresh touch, but when I entered I felt a little disappointed because I did not like how it looked, very basic and simple, I think they need to give more affection to this area, which is still important especially for women, the good thing is that it had a large mirror.
En cuanto a los baños, tienen dos generos hombres y mujeres, por fuera se ven muy bonitos con una pared llena de grama artificial que le da un toque fresco, pero al entrar me senti algo decepcionada ya que no me gusto como se veia, muy básico y simple, creo que les falta darle más cariño a esta area, que no deja de ser importante sobre todo para las mujeres, lo bueno es que tenia un espejo grande.
The music was nice but I did not connect with it, however, after being alone without my friends, which I did with the intention of touring the place well to show them, I can conclude that it is a thriving business, very well located, with a design appropriate to the category and that provides what it offers to its customers, recreation, relaxation without time limits at the time you want.

La música era agradable pero no me conecte con ella, sin embargo, después de quedarme sola sin mis amigos, cosa que hice con la intención de recorrer bien el lugar para mostrarselos, puedo concluir que es un negocio prospero, muy bien ubicado, con un diseño adecuado al rubro y que brinda lo que propone a sus clientes, esparcimiento, relajación sin limites de tiempo a la hora que desee.
