Christmas time brings out beautiful feelings in people and it is the right time to sow a small seed of empathy and kindness and just this last week of the year I gave myself a moment of recreation by watching a beautiful movie of Asian origin, I did not know its story, but I identified myself with its poster where a young man appears with an old woman, I could not understand its full title, since it was in a language different from mine, but I did grasp the main idea of winning millions, for this reason I asked myself, what does an old woman and millions have to do before someone dies? I started watching it and it was a good decision. For the next two hours I was crying and laughing at the same time, it is a very strange feeling that I don't remember having experienced before. At the end I sighed and I knew it was the best movie I saw in the year 2024.

It all starts in a cemetery and ends in the same place, for me this represented a message to understand that everything is cyclical, life and death is an endless process from which we can not escape and what we do in that time will impact positively or negatively to our descendants.

El tiempo de Navidad aflora sentimientos lindos en las personas y es el momento propicio para sembrar una pequeña semilla de empatía y bondad y justo esta última semana del año me regale un momento de recreación al ver una hermosa película de origen asiático, desconocía su historia, pero me identifique con su póster donde aparece un joven con una anciana, no pude entender su título completo, ya que estaba en un idioma distinto al mío, pero sí capte la idea principal de ganar millones, por esta razón me pregunté, ¿Qué tiene que ver una anciana, y los millones antes que alguien muera? La empecé a ver y fue una buena decisión. Durante las dos horas siguientes estuve llorando y riendo al mismo tiempo, es una sensación bien extraña que no recuerdo haberla vivido antes. Al terminal suspiré y supe que había sido la mejor película que vi en el año 2024.

Todo inicia en un cementerio y culmina en el mismo lugar, para mí esto representó un mensaje para dar entender que todo es cíclico, la vida y la muerte es un proceso interminable del cual no podemos escapar y lo que hagamos en ese tiempo impactará de forma positiva o negativa a nuestros descendientes.

"M" is the protagonist, a lazy and irresponsible young man who dedicates himself to making game streamers with the illusion of getting rich. He is the typical teenager of today's society, I think every family has such a young man. This boy is unique, son and grandson. Tucked in his cell phone, he goes to the cemetery where the whole family is to please his grandmother to pay homage to his ancestors, but M didn't see the point of these rituals.

Her family was small, consisting of her grandmother, two uncles, two cousins and her mother. Suddenly the grandmother felt ill and a medical checkup revealed that she was sick with advanced stage cancer, news that M's mother gave him while he was playing without showing attention or even a gesture of support for his mother, but just in those days he visited one of his cousins and she lived with his grandfather who was in bed, M does not understand why her cousin does all that to the grandfather, being able to take advantage of his youth, but when the old man dies he makes her heir to his property, his two-story house, his cars and more and from here begins the humor and also the signs of the drama.

“M” es el protagonista, un joven flojo e irresponsable que se dedica a hacer streamer de juegos con la ilusión de hacerse rico. Es el típico adolescente de la sociedad actual, creo que todas las familias tienen un joven así. Este chico es único, hijo y nieto. Metido en su celular, asiste al cementerio donde está toda la familia para complacer a la abuela para rendirle homenaje a sus ancestros, pero M no le veía sentido a esos rituales.

Su familia era pequeña, conformada por la abuela, dos tíos, dos primas y su mamá. De pronto la abuela se siente mal y en un chequeo médico revelan que esta enferma tiene cáncer en etapa avanzada, noticia que le da la mamá de M a él mientras jugaba sin mostrar atención ni tampoco un gesto de apoyo con su mamá, pero justo en esos días visita a una de sus primas y esta vive con su abuelo que está en cama, es ella quien lo cuida, lo asea, le cambia los pañales y lo alimenta, M no entiende por qué su prima hace todo eso al abuelo, pudiendo aprovechar su juventud, pero al morir el anciano la hace heredera de sus bienes, su casa de dos pisos, sus autos y más y desde aquí comienza el humor y también las señales del drama.

M observo como su prima a corta edad, ya tenía estabilidad económica e inspirado en su experiencia decidió cuidar a su abuela con la intención de heredar cuando esta muriera 🤣, durante este proceso él se muda a cuidar a su abuela, y le toca acompañarla a su trabajo, aprender hacerlo, llevarla a sus quimios, y hasta bañarla. En estas escenas su relación se fortalece, se vuelven amigos y renace un amor como pocos, el humor está presente en cada paso que daban, pero también muestran el drama de una forma real y basada en lo que es la enfermedad y la vejez, yo que casualmente cuido a mi abuela desde hace años me identifiqué con este personaje sin esperar una herencia ni un pago a cambio 😄, aunque a veces si le digo a mi abuela bromeando que tenía que tener mucho dinero para pagar todo personal que la cuida 😆🤣 cuando lo hago me derrite su sonrisa ingenua e inocente.

M observed how his cousin at a young age, already had economic stability and inspired by his experience decided to take care of his grandmother with the intention of inheriting when she died 🤣, during this process he moves to take care of his grandmother, and he has to accompany her to her work, learn to do it, take her to her chemo, and even bathe her. In these scenes their relationship is strengthened, they become friends and a love like few others is reborn, humor is present in every step they took, but also show the drama in a real way and based on what is the disease and old age, I who coincidentally take care of my grandmother for years I identified with this character without expecting an inheritance or payment in return 😄, although sometimes if I tell my grandmother jokingly that she had to have a lot of money to pay all staff that takes care of her 😆🤣 when I do I melt her naive and innocent smile.

Going back to the movie, the protagonist is transforming and goes from being a lazy teenager to a mature, responsible, grateful and noble young man, although sometimes he was given a tantrum that made grandma cry. This production could not be better to show people's hearts in the face of illness and old age and what they value or desire most in life, money and material things. It is a film to open the conscience of those who watch it with an open heart.

There were no surprises or unexpected twists in almost the entire film, except for the ending that gave it a closing with a bit of fantasy taking the spotlight away from the harsh reality that had always been shown, maybe they wanted to leave the viewers with more neutral emotions after all. If you have some free time these days, I recommend you to watch this movie and, if it is with your family even better, they will have fun and it would be a good excuse to leave family values and reflections.

Volviendo a la película, el protagonista se va transformando y pasa de ser un adolescente flojo a un joven maduro, responsable, agradecido y noble, aunque a veces le daban una pataleta que hacía llorar a la abuela. Esta producción no podía ser mejor para mostrar los corazones de las personas enfrente de la enfermedad y la vejez y lo que más valoran o desean de la vida, el dinero y lo material. Es una película para abrir la conciencia a quienes la ven con el corazón abierto.

No hubo sorpresas ni giros inesperados en casi toda la película, a excepción del final que le dio un cierre con un poco de fantasía quitándole protagonismo a la dura realidad que se había mostrado siempre, tal vez quisieron dejar a los espectadores con emociones más neutrales después de todo. Si tienes un tiempo libre en estos días, te recomiendo ver esta película y, si es con tu familia mejor, se divertirán y sería una buena excusa dejar valores y reflexiones familiares.
