Hola! Me hago llamar virtualmente Starfurious así que creo que me quedaré con ese nombre por aquí también. Nací en una de las islas muy pequeñitas, tierras españolas tras la conquista muy violentamente de colonos pero casi casi casi hubiéramos sido ingleses.. pero bueno que mejor eso es otro post random. En este hablemos de mi porque así se me ha pedido y aquí va un poco de forma resumida, mi historia.
Hello! I virtually call myself Starfurious so I think I'll stick with that name around here too. I was born in one of the very small islands, Spanish lands after the conquest very violently of colonists but almost almost almost we would have been English... but well that's better another random post. In this one let's talk about me because I have been asked to do so and here is a little bit of my history in a summarized way.
Seré sincera en estas primeras líneas que siempre que me dicen que hablen de mí , no sé que decir pero igual como me expreso mejor en escrito que hablado espero poder hablar por aquí lo que a veces callo. Otro punto a favor es que hace bastante tiempo que no escribo a si que igual es una buena forma para adquirir el hábito.

Bajo la luna llena y ola de calor, nací.
Nací en un buen día caluroso, o más bien, en una noche muy calurosa. En una isla, con el sonido de las olas a lo lejos y con la marea baja por la influencia de la luna llena. Estuve rodeada de personas desconocidas, hasta de lo que supuestamente era mi madre y médico y enfermeras en un hospital pequeño en la capital de Tenerife. Mi madre creo que llegó a sentir alivio porque tras varias caminatas al Teide, piscinas naturales, campo… Nací pero no haciendo ninguna de esas actividades.. simplemente nací cuando me sentí preparada, o eso creo.
Under the full moon and heat wave, I was born. I was born on a nice hot day, or rather, on a very hot night. Los primeros pasos siempre estuve acompañada o eso veo en las fotos de un álbum que me llegaron a hacer. Estuve en brazos de mis padres, de mis tíos maternos y paternos. Me llegaron a hacer una fiesta de bienvenida en la que parte de la familia se vinieron a la isla vecina ya que mis padres son de islas diferentes .Islas diferentes donde está el eterno pique y conflicto político pero como en todos lados, en un bar en una madrugada ahí fortuitamente se conocieron mis futuros padres, a si que para ellos no existió peleas politicas ,parece ser.

Cuando empecé a caminar en las fotos siempre estaba bajo la atenta mirada de mi abuela materna. Esa conexión creo que me pasó desde muy jovencita con ella, siempre sentía un gran afecto hacia ella porque pese a las travesuras que le hacía con mi primo siempre nos miraba y nos trataba con amor puro y sincero. Era guay sentarse en el escalón de la puerta de la abuela y mirar simplemente las horas pasar rodeados de golosinas que cada día nos compraba, el olor a pan de leña y su cálido hogar donde siempre había tabletas de chocolate duro para roer a altas horas de la noche y con el grand Prix de fondo. ¡Todo ella era adorable!
When I started to walk in the pictures I was always under the watchful eye of my maternal grandmother. That connection I think happened to me from a very young age with her, I always felt a great affection for her because despite the pranks I would play on her with my cousin she would always look at us and treat us with pure and sincere love. It was cool to sit on grandma's door step and just watch the hours go by surrounded by the goodies she bought us each day, the smell of wood-fired bread and her warm home where there were always bars of hard chocolate to gnaw at the midnight with the grand Prix in the background of the room.Just all her it was a lovely!
De adolescente nos mudamos yo y mis padres a la isla donde nació mi padre. Siempre solíamos ir de vacaciones a la isla de enfrente a si que tampoco era nada nuevo. Me acostó adaptarme un poco porque los pocos amigos que tenía en la otra isla se dispersaron y la distancia era más difícil quedar o . Me refugié en mi misma hasta que conocí a mi mejor amiga de la adolescencia. Me enseñaría el ocio y la vida nocturna.. de pasar de estudiar día y noche a tener grandes grupos de hasta 20 y pico personas. La vida social aumentaba. Era gracioso incluso acudir a casa de personas que ni sabías que existían y estaban en el grupo. Me envolví en música de rock y de vestimentas algo oscuras..
As a teenager my parents and I moved to the island where my father was born. We always used to go on vacation to the opposite island so it was nothing new. It took me a while to adapt because the few friends I had on the other island were scattered and the distance made it harder to get together. I took refuge in myself until I met my best friend from adolescence. He de decir que cuanto más pasara desapercibida era mejor para mi, la mejor amiga de la adolescencia formaba parte de un grupo de chicas que eran como ‘’las guapas de la clase’’ o algo así. Era curioso porque todas iban siempre bien arregladas, maquilladas y su tema eran los chicos y la ropa. Yo en cambio, mi tema era de todo menos los chicos y la ropa.. y precisamente ropas coloridas y bien arregladas y ultra maquillada nunca ( eso sí el eyelyner negro no me lo quitaban ni para atrás, ni con jabón) Tampoco era muy coqueta desde que era muy pequeña. Según me cuenta mi madre intentaba ponerme vestidos y pendientes pero me molestaba los vestidos y me arrancaba literalmente los pendientes incluso haciéndome sangre por lo que mi madre optó por no vestirme más así.
Y si, unos años después no tenía agujeros en las orejas..
Aquí vamos que te contaré una historia sobre esto..
I have to say that the more I went unnoticed the better for me, my best friend from adolescence was part of a group of girls who were like ''the pretties of the class'' or something like that. Años más tarde por la época ‘’más oscura de vestimentas’’ aproximadamente con unos 15 años fui a una relojería que casualmente ofertaban hacerse agujeros en las orejas. Recuerdo que iba con mi amiga y yo fui la atrevida de entrar a ese mostrador de cristalería donde colocaban los mejores relojes relucientes de oro y de plata siendo acompañado por una señora bastante mayor escondida en unas grandes gafas y su cadena alrededor del cuello.
Me acerqué sin dilación y le dije lo siguiente:
-Hola, disculpa ¿hacéis agujeros en las orejas?
La señora se bajó las gafas enormes que descansaban encima de su nariz aguileña, nos miró de arriba abajo con absoluta seriedad y contestó:
-Hombre, pues claro, ¿no ves el letrero?- señaló.
-Nos lo queremos hacer – contestó mi amiga.

Years later in the ''darker period of clothing'' when I was about 15 years old, I went to a watchmaker's shop where they offered to pierce holes in the ears. I remember that I went with my friend and I was the daring one to enter that glassware counter where they placed the best gleaming gold and silver watches being accompanied by a rather old lady hidden in a large and her chain around her neck.
I approached her without delay and told her the following:
-Hello, excuse me do you make holes in the ears?
The lady lowered her huge glasses that rested on her aquiline nose, looked us up and down with absolute seriousness and answered: "Man, of course, don't you see the lethargy?

-We want to have it done," answered my friend.

Sonrió la señora ante esa respuesta, cogió la pistola y nos eligió los pendientes básicos que se le suelen poner a los bebés.
-De acuerdo, no os mováis porque la última clienta se movió al ponerle el pendiente y claro esto es automático no para si os movéis os rajará la oreja y un poco el cuello.- acto seguido no dejó ni respirar y empezó a agujerear.
The lady smiled at this answer, took the gun and chose the basic earrings that are usually put on babies.

No estuve más tensa porque tenía que respirar pero en esos momentos creo que hasta dejé de hacerlo. Funcionó porque me quedé como piedra absolutamente. La primera lección en mi corta vida.

A medida que los años iban pasando empecé a cambiar de color de blanco y negro en vestimenta a colores más marrones, negro y blanco. Una nueva paleta de color entraba en el vestuario.

Sabía que me gustaba la psicología a si que empecé a perseguir temas de psicología, pensando que quizás algún día lo sería.. de optativas de último curso pese a ser un libro de 300 páginas y arriesgándome a suspender la selectividad, me apunté por amor al arte. Además, estudiando me enamoraba más de la psicología.
I knew that I liked psychology so I started to pursue psychology subjects, thinking that maybe someday I would be one... from last year electives despite being a book of 300 pages and risking to fail the selectivity, I signed up for the true love with it.Plus,studying made me fall more in love with psychology.
Los orientadores del instituto al que acudía me animaron a realizar el ingreso para la carrera de psicología pero en la isla en la que vivía ahí no existía esa carrera y mis padres no tenían tampoco el dinero suficiente para poder pagarme una residencia a si que… hice un test de vocación y me salía en el primer lugar psicología y en el segundo lugar trabajo social.
The counselors at the high school I attended encouraged me to apply for a psychology degree but on the island where I lived there was no such degree and my parents did not have enough money to pay for a residence so... I took a vocation test and I was in first place psychology and in second place social work.
Busqué las funciones y abarcaba psicología y además intervención, dos cosas que me encantaban. Sin embargo, era la nota más alta del departamento de ciencias jurídicas. No obstante, la orla ya llegaba y había nuevas personas en mi vida, personas que se habían ido y las primeras decepciones en todos los sentidos pero me sentía feliz, me estaba adentrando más, estaba más cerca de algún futuro profesional que todos los profesores perjuraban que tenías… (lejos de la realidad)
I looked up the functions and it covered psychology and also intervention, two things I loved. However, it was the highest grade in the legal science department. However, the graduation was coming and there were new people in my life, people who had left and the first disappointments in every way but I felt happy, I was getting deeper, I was closer to some professional future that all the professors swore you had... (far from the reality).
Aquí con mis pendientes tras la ansiedad sufrida de la rajada de garganta pero feliz por ser la graduación sabiendo la que me veía para estudiar.

Tras la fiesta y el orlín entregado de bachillerato (porque de secundaria no había en mi instituto) días después me conocí en esos momentos como ‘’rata de biblioteca, o más bien de casa’’. Iba a por todas por tantas promesas hechas pese a la psicología frustrada y porque si estudias universidad tienes futuro asegurado.

Carrera que me enseñó mucho sobre el trabajo duro, la ansiedad por no dar la talla, asignaturas de relleno y muchas promesas de ser la ‘’agente de cambio’’ nada más salir de la carrera, ‘’asi que estudiad mucho, amargaos que luego trabajaréis de lo que les gusta.’’
Career that taught me a lot about hard work, anxiety for not making the grade, filler subjects and many promises of being the ''agent of change'' right after leaving the career, ''so study hard, bitter that later you will work on what they like.''
A último año de carrera empecé a currar en un bar de copas, alemanes y sin saber nada de alemán en el sur de la isla.

La verdad que hice bastantes amistades de diferentes países y de diferentes acentos. Era un centro comercial bastante deplorable , era como construcción con muñecos de los años 60 a punto derruir. Entrabas luego por esas escaleras y en la segunda planta estaba lleno de vida, de personas de casi walking dead, movimientos arrítmicos, pellejo pero con una vida dentro de ellos que era digno de admirar.
The truth is that I made many friends from different countries and with different accents. It was a pretty deplorable mall, it was like a construction with dolls from the 60's about to be demolished. Then you went down those stairs and on the second floor was full of life, people almost walking dead, arrhythmic movements, skin but with a life inside them that was worth admiring.
Por otro lado, mi vida era el trabajo de fin de carrera y trabajar.. me mudé y me alejé de la familia porque estaba a algunos kilómetros lejos de la casa. No eché de menos nada ya que tampoco tenía tiempo para pensar entre el trabajo y la curiosidad de conocer la nueva ciudad que parecía otra más allá que la isla que me vio crecer.

Poco a poco los años fueron pasando, me hice varias amigas que me obligaban bastante a salir por la zona, conociendo rincones, conociendo comidas exóticas. Llevaba ahí 4 años en esa zona y todavía me impactaba el choque cultural que había.En el sur de la isla, las guaguas tardaban una barbaridad. Cuando iba a hacer la compra, bajo el sol sureño y las largas distancias no aguanté mas y me intenté sacar el carnet de coche con lo que iba ganando entre trabajos y trabajos.. necesitaba mi independencia ya.
Gradually the years went by, I made several friends who forced me to go out a lot in the area, getting to know new places, getting to know exotic foods, and I had been there for 4 years and I was still shocked by the culture shock. Comencé a valorar el salir fuera de la isla, mucho más sobre todo con la pandemia. Tenía miedo no sólo de las personas que pudieran morir.. si no de la eliminación de muchos puestos por no contratar a más empleados.
Y ocurrió.
I began to think about going out of the island, sometimes it became small in terms of finding jobs... much more so with the pandemic. I was afraid not only of the people who might die... but also of the elimination of many jobs by not hiring more employees.
And it happened.
Tras la pandemia valoré otras alternativas muchas más consolidadas sobre una vida más allá, la curiosidad se me hacía pequeña ya dentro de la isla. Quería salir fuera y la situación sucedió para poderlo hacer. Lamentablemente nada de lo que ahora mismo me funcionase me ataba a la isla, fue con mucha tristeza por dejar la familia atrás pero.. mucha ilusión por lo que me esperase por Aragón.
After the pandemic I valued other alternatives, much more consolidated about a life beyond, the curiosity was becoming too small for me inside the island. I wanted to go out and the situation happened to be able to do it. Unfortunately nothing that worked for me right now tied me to the island, it was with a lot of sadness for leaving my family behind but... a lot of illusion for what was waiting for me in Aragón.
Me cogí a Koby (mi gran cobaya) , me hice la maleta y dejé fuera los abrigos que igual me esperaría ese frío diciembre de Madrid.
I took Koby (my big guinea pig), I packed my suitcase and I left my coats outside, because I might have to wait for that cold December in Madrid.
Sobrevolaba hacia una nueva vida, nueva aventura y la incertidumbre pero con certeza de que me esperaría una vida mejor y no de unas islas que solo se sustentaban del turismo muerto tras la pandemia.
¿El nuevo capítulo de mi vida? Sí.
I was flying towards a new life, new adventure and uncertainty but with the certainty that a better life would await me and not the islands that were only sustained by the tourism that died after the pandemic.
The new chapter of my life? Yes.
