HODL has been a favourite terminology in any sphere of investment. Be it in crypto market, or any normal money investment or in case of real estate investment. To reap the benefit of the money one need to give sufficient time to let it grow in any form of investment. However HODLing does not always pays off. It happened to me when my $ 25000 worth of investment has turned into nothing after 7 years.
Real estate investment was once the pioneer of all investment. It was assumed that any investment in property will always get a good return. Even todsy the thinking remain same and many modern millinials still belive in investing on property. However they forgot that the return on the property investment depends upon the demand for the property.
It happened in my case where the demand for property for 2- bedroom flats in urban areas have fallen drastically. Once there was a boon in the real estate industry and demand were so high. It was the under construction flat whose possession was supposed to be in 3 years. It was not only me but many people bring in their hard earned money into real estate hoping to see a netrioritic rise or return in future time. However the boom in property market was such that, every day new builders comes up with new projects. This further results in falli g the demand of flats.
The economic theory of demand and supply stands true here , where the supply for the flats is more than the demand of flats. The buyer were less in market and flat inventory is huge in market. Resulting in sharp decline in market prices. What used to be my $25000 + addional charges are now standing at less than $20000. It's been more than 7 years now but the there is no scope of any increment.
Further to my woes, I can't either put that for renting purpose, as it was under developed region and not much of civic amenities available. This is first time I notices the sharp decline in the real estate property. I never imagined to have face such loss on investment.
Now I was wondering that even If I had put that amount in bank 7 years ago it might would have doubled under some good scheme. Honestly the scenario at the property market is not so good. Even though there were certain increase in property prices lately, however the loss of buyers in market simply make the situation worst for all property investors.
The heat for property market is getting low and no one is ready to bring in more fund for any new projects. Looks at all the situation, I belive the crypto could be a good bet now at least for a good return. As there are no other best alternative available.
