It was a dull a beginning of the day, I was not feeling well, and had little hangover, may be due to some over exposure to mobile screen I was feeling like. If i stayed at home, i may feel sleepy, so I went out to explore the oldest city zoo. Once it happened to be a major city attraction which houses many wildlife species. But with the passage of time, it lost its charm. But still the place is very popular for the city, it has enough to entertain the visitor. Its been a while since I went out to explore the wildlife in such a way. I have been staying at this place for over an year, but never went out to explore the city zoo. When I went there, it did not let me down.
Zoo always happens to be a place for kids lewrning zone. It is place, where kids can learn about the wildlife by closely watching the wild animals in their enclosure. As this has been old zoo i did not expected to see many wild species, still, my visit was enough for the money. The zoo is named after our first prime minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. The entry ticket is very minimal and cost me 20 INR only. Even for the minimal charges, they are accepting the digital payment No cash. The entrance was very beautiful with Greenary all around the place. The zoo has good roads connectivity that take inside the wild animals enclosure. We have a giant statue of our firt primie minister, welcoming everyone with a big smile of his face.
The place looks quite deserted and creepy. There were not much visitor, may be I am the early entrants to the place. The place is a lost in the city due to improper upkeep. The zoo is owned by a Government owned steel plant, but due to lack of funding and upkeep it was not maintained as it sippose to be. As said it used to be a tourist attar lion for nearby city, but now it is in depletion stage. Still keeping everything in mind, I began exploring the place. There were a dense green passage that takes us deep inside the animal enclosure. The path is heavenly densed and there were lot of trees. The interesting part is that all the trees have a name plate on it. Giving a thorough understanding about the tree to the visitor.
There were empty enclosures that were standing idle in middle of the bushes. While entering the zoo, i enquired about the animals details and they confirmed me seeing leapord inside the zoo. I was more excited for it.
I began my animal sighting with the ducks. They were calmly sitting in their enclosure and stretching.

The next in line was black bucks. There were many inside their respective enclosure, but one near to the boundary ares, so taking a snap was not at all problem.
I found them very peace loving. They were not distracted by the vistor presence. I kept moving ahead with Leapord in mind. The zoo area is very big but most of the cages were empty. Lack of maintenance and upkeep has really taken a toll to this besutiful place. There were many cages rushing in open. These were used for transporting the wild animals.

At the same places there were emptied animal enclosure. My mind kept wondering how the place the would have been when it houses some animal species for the visitors. This one must be of gorillas, but now the places is completelly emptied.

I kept wondering looking for the leaport but in between enjoying the green meadows that engulfed the entire place. After a decent walk, I found the one I am looking for. Leapord in sight, always fascinating.
Roaming inside the cages in its own swag, may be in anger or may be in hunger. Who know but this one looks very stressed. I looked at him as closer as possible but the iron ralling avoided getting much closer. After a brief stay at his cages, i went ahead to explore more. There few other birds and animal inside the zoo.
Parrot, Peacock, Pelican, Doves and few other. I kept wondering what is the need of keeping them in such condition. There were smell all around. I knew one thing but used to be a popular destination for the city people. But with time, it changed and there is Noone to take care of all. The condition is really too deteriorating to mention.
But I was fascinated to watch the Long Pelican and Leaport for sure. Those were my welcome sighting and enjoy spending the day around the green zone. During my entire stay, there was not much rush, whichnis understandable considering the condition of the place. As per the older generstion, the zoo houses many animal but now many died and the place lost its charm. I wish someone take responsibility and take care of it to make fully operational.
In good faith - Peace!!
