On the First of January, I took a snapshot of my Hive Power and Staked HBD and I already decided on my saving goals for this year. Personal Savings Goals for 2025:
I selected two goals for the new year for my savings on Hive:
- Primary Goal: increase my stake by 5474.28 Hive Pover.
- Secondary Goal(s): increase my stake by 914.83 HBD.
As you can see, the numbers are very precise, and I will go a bit into the details of my two goals.
Hive Power saving goal
My savings performance last year was quite bad, and I wrote in a separate post about this. The annual percentage rate for my organic growth (excluding power-up from external accounts) was a bare 8.58%. As a comparison, the powered Hive is growing by itself by approx. 3% APR, active content curation adds approx. 10% APR, not to mention rewards for writing quality content. Most of my HP remained dormant in 2024, and this I decided to change. My target for 2025 is to double my performance to a target 17.16% APR. As the root cause lies in my behavior on the chain, I'm fully aware that magic will not happen overnight. Therefore, I'm starting with a weekly target similar to the performance of 2024, plus a compounding model that asks me to get better by 5% each week until I reach the target APR. Based on this model, my behavior should be corrected by 12-Apr-25. Might be a complex model for you, but I'm convinced that this is something that will work for me. According to this model, at the end of the year, I should have 37230.33 HP in my account.
HBD saving goal
Hive Dollar, abbreviated as HBD, is a stablecoin that operates on the Hive blockchain. What sets Hive Dollar apart from other cryptocurrencies is its stability ensured in a decentralized nature.
HBD should be on the bucket for every saver on Hive. Its existence is governed by the algorithms built into the chain, and dividends are very attractive. The current dividend rate is set by the witnesses at 15%. The APR is dynamic, but I don't expect changes for the year to come. My target at the end of the year is to earn 1 HBD/day from this stream and to enable this, I will need 2433.33 HBD staked in my account.
