Originally my style of photography was Documentary Photography, so I thought my best work was taking candid shots. It's possible to take a great profile picture by commissioning another photographer, but it's probably hard for anyone to create an image as part of everyday life. Documentary-style photography isn't just about taking great pictures.
Model Juni (Kid-dol student Lee Ji-ah)
It was at Dongdaemun Design Plaza that I first met Lee Ji-ah, a student who is currently active as a child idol and doing various activities such as a model, dancer, and actor. I was very surprised to see him wearing clothes that would be difficult for ordinary people to wear and taking various poses comfortably. Of course, I don't know if you have to do this from a young age to be a model in the industry, but it's no wonder I was surprised because even adult amateur models can't do this kind of pose naturally and easily.
This shoot became a destination, and I meet Jiah Lee (accompanied by my parents) once a month to continue filming. Documentary-style photography is not a one-time thing. There is no special concept for each session. Rather, the key is to create the most natural behavior of this person in everyday life without making a special concept.
This is a photo taken with the New Jeans concept. In fact, a member of New Jeans is said to have left the agency to which student Jiah Lee belongs. Maybe if Jiah Lee walks the same path and works as passionately as she does now, good things will happen?
Analog film feels quite different from digital photography. It also doesn't feel old or fuzzy. Using the Leica M camera and M lenses, you can take pretty sharp film photos. In some cases, they cannot be distinguished from digital photos when viewed on a small screen.
Film photography, it is attractive to feel the strange texture of the film.

documentary style filming
The biggest advantage of documentary-style shooting is that the time spent on photo shoots builds up, creating a sense of intimacy between the photographer and the main character. Few people know that documentary-style shooting was probably the reason why Marilyn Monroe, a Hollywood actress known to the whole world, became a famous actress.
Andre De Dienes, a Hungarian photographer, was looking for models to shoot in various places and met 19-year-old Norma Jeane Baker (real name of Marilyn Monroe). And it was their start that they went on a road trip together and took candid photos in various places with or without posing as much as possible.
