I was in constant thought of not uploading this content. But, here it goes. I come to point to share as the story need to be heard and concerning things need to be addressed wherever you are.
Few days back, I and my friend went to a hill town visit quite far from home. With itinerary and idea so related to new place, it was a exploration. That will time after staying in one place, we had to move to another destination with no idea on the route. So, the best definite idea was to follow the main route. And went along the way. At one point , we decided to ask local for the route to the destination. They favored us to go through the jungle and that would be a good hike and quick reach to the place. So we turned back to the route, and made our way to the jungle.
We walked almost half and hour then we heard a weird animal noise. As of the jungle it was kind of scary and expected to be jackal.
It was coming down from the canal. Took a sight. Ghosh, it was puppies bagged in sack and thrown into the water. One puppies had its body half out of the sack. My heart sank right there. The only thought was hope all are alive. We went down, brought the sack to the higher ground. The immediate help was to get all out of sack. So we did.
Four puppies were all sticky with dirt and thirsty. Took out the bottle from the bag, and gave them water. I felt low. I had no idea, this would happen to them in such a way. I was having constant deep drowning thoughts on the absurdity. So thirsty that they would lick my fingers all over while I pour water.
They were all extracted fine from the sack.
We decided to pick them up, and move to our destinations. Luckily, where we were planning to stay helped us to feed them and take care of them. They were living with us in the same room. The only thing we were worried about was their hunger and the health issues. Their belly sounded as if they were bloating.
They were well feed and taken care of them the entire night. The problem was they were having hard times keeping upon their feet.
Dogs are taken more care in Nepal, and are loved in every households. But, mostly the male ones. Female are neglected and are usually avoided to keep as to avoid more puppies in future. Is this what led to this activities. I couldnt argue here. In the mean time, the good locals requested to keep two puppies. We accepted their offer.
We contacted alot of rescue teams and parties, most denied or made an excuse. Luckily, one organization from Kathmandu decided to keep them up. Now, we were far from the place, and with the puppies bad health it was troublesome. Luckily, the route was okay to go and handover of those puppies was a success. They are alive and doing great. Its a joy but still the moment shrinks my heart everytime I recall the time.
I made my mind to share this because there could be so many ill activities happen in beautiful places. When you travel, make sure you look and do the right thing necessary at the moment. The good things will come by.
