I've been playing Sorare NBA since their first season. I've been quite happy with my rewards in the first season. However, last season wasn't that great and I barely one any card.
This year the reward system pretty much changed as Sorare introduced the boxes as rewards. Also, there are now the in-season and the classic competitions.
In classic competitions one can use any card from the current as well as the previous season. That's nice as that keeps up the value of the older cards. But the competition is high there. More than 10.000 teams are registered each game week in the Classic Champion as well as the Classic Contender competition.
The in-season competition have much less participators. Which makes them look like easier to win a reward.
As I got already a couple of in-season cards I’m focusing on those competitions, but keep using my older cards in the classic competitions as well.
In game week 9 (19-22 November) I had my by far best results ever in Sorare NBA. 3 out of my 6 lineups won a reward.
Before looking at the rewards, let’s check out these three wining lineups and the scoring.
Winning Lineups
In-Season Limited Contender (1943 players)
- Ryan Dunn 21
- Tristan da Silva 20
- Franz Wagner* 77
- Bennedict Mathurin 41
- Moritz Wagner 37
- Total: 198.83
This lea to the 88th place in the competitions with a „4 Star Box“ as reward. * Classic Card used
In-Season Limited Underdog (1721 players)
- Jeremiah Robinson-Earl 27
- Oso Ighodaro 30
- Harrison Barnes* 45
- Grayson Allen 21
- Cody Martin 34
- Total 159.20
This led to the 36th place in the competitions with a „4 Star Box“ as reward. * Classic Card used
And finally, the best lineup in this game week.
Classic Contender (10917 players)
- Moritz Wagner 37
- Obi Toppin 41
- Jusuf Nurkic* 55
- Alperen Sengun 54
- Jabari Smith Jr. 39
- Total: 229.10
This led to a sensational 62nd place in the competitions and a **„Tier 1“ **card and a „2 Star Box“ as reward. * In-season card used
The Rewards
Obviously the „Tier 1“ card is the best of the rewards for this game week. There is a list of the players that are currently ranked as „Tier 1“ available in Sorare. That ranking seem to change according to their performance. Before revealing the card, I checked through the list.
And actually there was the chance to get some really good and valuable cards such as Jalen Williams, Brandon Miller, Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Brunson or De’Aron Fox. Just to name a view. Some of them good to be used as MVP in a Champions Lineup or worth up to 40$ when sold.
Then I revealed my card. And I got:
- a center
- of the Toronto Raptors
- from Austria
- Jakob Poeltl
And, I was bit dissapointed. Don’t get me wrong. He is a great player and I’m happy about any reward I get. But there are two points. Firstly his average score is like 40 or 41. Which is too low for an MVP but to high for playing him in any lineup. Besides, he is constant in scoring, not having the high upside potential of e.g. De’Aron Fox. Secondly he seems not too popular as his cards sell only for about 15$. Nothing compared to the value of a Brandon Miller or Tyrese Maxey.
Conclusion
But anyway, I won finally a card this season. So, I’m happy and motivated to continue. It’s hard to win in the Classic Limited competitions, but it is possible. Just need to choose a good lineup and have a bit of luck with over-performers.
