I am Teresa Cornel. You can call me Tere or Matet.I want to acknowledge Hive in my journey because I have many things I can share in this community. I will tell you a glimpse about my experiences in life and how I overcame those things. Many people in my province call me Matet because I have Maria as my first name. But when I got married. I discovered this was not on my birth certificate. So I preferred to use Tere as my nickname.
My journey as a married person is not easy, but you can learn many lessons. And also, you can write a story that you can show in a movie, somebody says. When they heard my story. Behind that happiness, you can see a part of me that always believes. I'm ahead of all the challenges that I've experienced in life. I was hired as a tutor, which was one of my dreams because no one in my family had finished college. So, I desired to be a teacher someday because I admired teachers for their passion for teaching. I know how hard it is to be a teacher and the effort they give to their profession. No amount of money can buy it. Here in this community, I want to share the journey of my life. I hope you can relate to me and through me, I can bring a good perception to your life same just as me.
I am the third of five children of my mother. I grew up in a house that was a complete family. I have a mother and father, but we felt without a father. My father did not show us that our studies were very important. But as a child, I believe I need to finish high school. So my sisters and I were trying to earn money even at a younger age. We tried to work on the farm to earn money. And we finished high school.
And when I was 18 years old. I met my husband at the age of 40, and after 2 years we decided to get married. He is not a rich man, as you can see on TV, She got married because he is rich. Our life was full of joy, and we are serving as believers. And God blessed us with 2 kids, but the amazing thing is that all my kids were answered by prayer. I asked God for a boy because my husband was old, and He blessed me with a boy. And secondly, I asked for a girl because I want to experience having a girl so that I don’t envy someone someday for not having a girl. And He gave again. My walk as a married and a parent was not easy because the two of us had high-paying jobs. My life before my lastborn was very difficult. My husband had experienced COVID-19 and was 50/50. But God is good! He gave him another chance, and my lastborn was birth.
Another challenge times happen. My husband was diagnosed with high creatinine and high uric acid. His heart is not functioning normally, and his body becomes weak. But by the grace of God, he was recovered. After that, I tried to study many things. Because I want to support my family. Until I became a tutor while having a little girl. While I was teaching at night, I managed a small canteen in the morning, and that was my life.
Why I join Hive?
While I was browsing, I saw Ms. @antonette's post. So I realized that joining her team to give me the opportunity to tell others about my experience in life that anyone can relate to. I am so excited that anyone can be transformed through your help. And sharing thoughts on how to be a strong woman. She shared with me about rules and policies about posting. She said that AI is prohibited in this area. So I decided to follow those instructions. To continue my journey here. I learned to become me myself, being unique is very important, and not copying others. I can learn from them, but not become like them. Because we are created with uniqueness.
I'm very excited to share my life and knowledge here. Some of my pictures were edited with the help of Canva.
