However, on the way, when the destination was only about one kilometre away, I asked Zaza to stop because I saw a very nice place (in my opinion). at that time my friend was surprised because I suddenly asked to stop. When he asked, I replied that I wanted to look around that place for a while (I said as I pointed to a unique building).
After parking my car in a shady spot, I immediately crossed the crowded streets of Semarang and looked for access to the area. Understandably, this place was more than a metre above the street, so it required stairs to get up. Soon after walking half a lap, I found my way.
OLD CITY MUSEUM
As I said earlier, that I wanted to go to the contemporary museum in the old city of Semarang, it turned out that the place I went to was also a museum. It's just the Museum of the Old City. Finding a museum by accident is like finding a diamond for me while travelling, so I happily searched for the entrance to this museum.
However, before entering, can't you see that this place is indeed interesting? Even just the exterior design is dominated by the colour red brick. I don't know what concept they used for this outside area. It looks like modern industrial.
In the front yard, there is a pond with a glass bridge in the middle that connects to the main entrance of the museum. However, before going to the pool area, I first wandered to the garden area where there was seating. Here, in addition to the comfortable concrete seating, there is also a hexagoonal display design that looks one concept with this modern industrial design.
After that, I headed to the glass bridge. There are two sides to this bridge, one from the front door to the main door, and the other from the side door to the main door as well.
I took the bridge from the front. When I arrived in front of the main door, I saw a statue that might be the mascot of this museum. If we read together from the description, it is written that the name of this statue is DIPTA DIPA which means light, reflection, harmony.
The statue made by an artist named Yani M. Sastranegara is made of copper plate, brass plate, galvanised olat. In the description listed below, this work is inspired by the discovery site of the Amsterdam Bastion with arrowheads. As a starting point for the visualisation of the work.
But after approaching the entrance, I got the bad news that the museum was closed. ... so to make up for my disappointment, I wandered around until I was satisfied. I also went up to the second floor, which was meant to be a rooftop. There, there were rows of chairs that visitors could relax in. So, maybe at night this place is also crowded with young people who want to enjoy Semarang's traffic from above.
The ivory-white staircase with a neutral-coloured iron banister contrasts with the dominant brick-red facade.
The words MUSEUM KOTA LAMA are written in large letters on the highest wall in the area. So, that's the purpose of this high wall, so that the writing of the museum is visible to potential visitors.
What do you think, isn't it interesting and nice? I especially like the brown colour they used. That's all for today, thank you for reading and see you soon...
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
