Hi hive family, it's finally time for me to answer one of life's biggest question, who am I?. My name is Joshua Treasure, born and raised in Nigeria from a family of 6 with me being the first child, and with being the first child comes a whole lot of responsibilities but that is story for later.
Most of the time when people are asked the question, who are you? they start to blurt out unique traits and characters that make them different from other people but that has never been the case with me. I like the simple life, I enjoy the simple life. Funny how I say I like the simple life when I also like to dream big. Ever since I was 13 I always wanted to be an engineer, a computer engineer to be exact but life doesn't always turn out the way we want it to. Let me run you through that.
In 2016 I was offered a chance to come study the course of my dreams, I was so excited I was on the way to finally becoming an engineer, I was going to do what I dreamed of. They say when life gives you lemons make lemonade but that wasn't the case here, life gave me lemons and squeeze them into my eyes. I was told by the admissions officer that although I was given admission to study computer engineering, my results from secondary school did not suffice to study the course. and in that very second, everything fall apart.
I had two choices, go retake the examination and stay home for a whole year or transfer to another course where the results I had would be enough. I took the second one and ended up studying urban and regional planning. I have never heard of that course in my life until when I transferred. Suddenly all my hopes and dreams of being an engineer crumbled before my eyes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful, I'm one of those people who believe everything happens for a reason. My transition into this course led me to meet a lot of people, minds who have helped shape before better. Now I enjoy the course. do I regret not getting to study computer engineering, maybe a little but I'm more thankful for where I am and the family it gave me.
I have never really been a big fan of cryptocurrency because of how unstable it but a friend of mine @chincoculbert told me recently of the Hive community where he has been making money through crypto and also made a lot of amazing friends.
Making new friends has always been difficult for me so I thought I would give this a go, and there's a plus side of making money too so it's kind of a win-win situation for me.
I still have big dreams, my dreams of becoming an engineer may or may not happen, but I will make sure I live this life to the fullest enjoying the little things it has to offer as I go on.
I'm so excited to get to know everybody here and so I leave you with what I look like.
