Almost every monster in splinterlands has at least one if three types of attacks, namely ranged, melee and magic attack. When it comes to ranged attack, you think about distance. Monsters with this kind of attack do their work from a distance. They usually don't do their job from close range except they have certain abilities to help them defy such restriction like the close range ability.
The fire element in particular has monsters with ranged attack that are worthy to take note of. These are monsters with battle winning stats. I will be exploring some of the best of such monsters. Rest assured, these are the kinds of monsters you want to use in battle.
Tinderlock
This ranged attack monster has an attack power of 3, which is great. It also a massive amount of health which is 8. This monster's speed stands at 2. The cards costs 10 mana.
At level one, Tinderlock has the close range ability. This gives it versatility as it is now has the capability to attack from the first position in battle despite the fact that it is a ranged attack card. So it can do damage from the first position, the last position and every other position. It also has the last stand ability, so it adds fifty percent to all stats when it the last unit left in battle.
At level 4, it adds the silence ability, letting it reduce the magic attack of enemy units by 1. By level 7, it gets the deathblow ability, enabling it do double damage when its target is the last unit remaining on the enemy team.
Lava Launcher
This powerful fire monster has a ranged attack power of 3. It also has a massive 6 armors and a health of 5. It is a relatively fast monster having a speed of 3. The mana cost for this card is 9 mana.
At level 1, Lava Launcher has the close range ability. This also lets it act as a tank especially since it has the armor and health stats making it fit for that role. By level 4, it adds the stun ability, so there's a possibility that its target will skip its next turn.
Rush Townsend
This brutal monster has a high attack power of 4. That's enough to decimate enemy units with less effort. It is also a very fast monster, having a speed of 4. In addition, this monster has 1 armor and a health of 4.
At level 1, it has the affliction ability, meaning there's a half chance that it can make a target unable to be healed in battle. It also has the ambush ability, letting it act first before the battle starts.
By level 3, it adds the piercing ability, so if it's attack damage is more than the target's armor, it will also damage the target's health.
At level 4, it gets the amplify ability. This increases thorns, magic reflect, return fire, corrosive ward damage to every enemy units by 1.
