Splinterlands tower Defense pre-sale occurred today September 20, 2022 at 8:00pm UTC. That is about an hour ago and it would mark another exciting time in the Splinterlands game ecosystem. Splinterlands Tower Defense (SPLTD) was introduced about two weeks ago as a collectible and trade able card-based NFTs in the Splinterlands game which will follows the same core values and infrastructure as Splinterlands.
Unlike the Riftwatchers presale in 96 seconds, The Splinterlands Tower Defense has sold over 200,000 packs within the first hour and there are still ~45,000 packs left. I am excited I was able to purchase 2 SPLTD packs with Credits and DEC with VOUCHERs. Each pack costs $5 worth of Credits/DEC plus 1 VOUCHER. I just needed to have a feel of the TD packs for a long HODL till then the cards could be worth well over $200.
In the next days and weeks, there will be a buzz around the Splinterlands ecosystem and this is just onw week after the BIG Riftwatchers instant presale. That was a big win in the Splinterlands ecosystem with the Splinterlands DAO getting richer by $2,500,000. The SPLTD pack pre-sale limited to 250,000 packs is expected to be sold out in the first 24 hours at most. key in the Tower Defense presale and regular sale is that it will utilize DEC and VOUCHER for its purchases.
As promised by the SL team, there are 3 Ways to Catalyze DEC and VOUCHER utility on SPLTD which include:
- Payment for SPLTD packs with DEC and credits at a fixed rate of 1,000 DEC equaling $1.00 USD, while VOUCHERs will give a discount on pack purchases.
- Payment to recharge the energy of towers, spells, and heroes by spending DEC. This also gives opportunity for discount payment with VOUCHERs.
- Paying for ingredients at the new store with DEC (with VOUCHER discounts).
It is obvious that the DEC and VOUCHER markets will witness a pump especially as the main transactions within the SPLTD utilizes them as purchasing power. I successfully paid for the SPLTD packs with Credits and DECs
I am excited to be listed among the SL sers awaiting the TD airdrop in the future. Hopin to receive extra cards and I hope the rarity would sale huge. Can't wait to open the cards once the main sale goes live.

A look at the SPLTD roadmap shows that things will shape up in this arm of the game within the next one year. It would be a long HODL with these assets but I think they are worth the patience.
