Passion fruit is one of my favorite choices when it comes to citrus juices and a drink made only from passion fruit seems to need nothing else, apart from water and sweetener, because it really is super delicious, with its exotic sweet and sour, tropical and aromatic flavor.
However, today it provoked me to make a combination I had never made before and it turned out great. I mixed the smooth and fresh taste of cucumber with the intense flavor of passion fruit and the result was a super delicious drink. Citrusy and smooth, aromatic and refreshing, perfect to enjoy on a hot day. A combination of flavors that complement each other perfectly.
La maracuyá es una de mis opciones preferidas en cuanto a jugos cítricos se refiere y una bebida solo de maracuyá parece no necesitar nada más, aparte de agua y endulzante, porque realmente es super deliciosa, con su exótico sabor agridulce, tropical y aromático.
Sin embargo, hoy me provocó hacer una combinación que nunca antes había hecho y quedó genial. Mezclé el sabor suave y fresco del pepino junto al intenso sabor de la maracuyá y resultó una bebida súper deliciosa. Cítrica y suave, aromática y refrescante, perfecta para disfrutar en un día caluroso. Una combinación de sabores que se complementan a la perfección.
Ingredients I used for about 400 ml approx:
- Half of a large juicy passion fruit.
- One fourth of a medium cucumber.
- 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Thin cucumber slices for serving.
- Approx. 300 ml of water.
Ingredientes que usé para unos 400 ml aprox:
- La mitad de una maracuyá grande y jugosa.
- La cuarta parte de un pepino mediano.
- 2 cucharadas de azúcar.
- Rodajas delgadas de pepino para servir.
- 300 ml de agua aprox.
Preparation // Preparación:
The preparation of this drink is very simple, as you probably already know or can imagine. The passion fruit pulp is blended together with the cucumber cut into smaller pieces, the water and the sugar.
In my case, although I washed the cucumber, I preferred to remove the skin from the part I blended in case there were still traces of dirt or pesticides.
The slices I used to serve were soaked in a little vinegar water for a few minutes.
La preparación de esta bebida es muy sencilla, como seguro ya sabes o te imaginas. Se licua la pulpa de la maracuyá junto al pepino cortado en trozos más pequeños, el agua y el azúcar.
En mi caso, aunque lavé el pepino, preferí quitarle la piel a la parte que licué por si aún quedaban rastros de suciedad o pesticidas.
Las rodajas que usé para servir las sumergí en un poco de agua con vinagre unos minutos.

Serve with ice to chill it well, and while the ice does its work, the cucumber slices continue to transfer their mild flavor to the drink and make it look a little interesting, I think.
Serví con hielo para enfriarlo bien y mientras el hielo hace su efecto, las rodajas de pepino siguen transfiriendo su suave sabor a la bebida y la hacen ver un poco interesante, eso creo.
