There are loads of predictions regarding what the future of the world will be like, and if I were to give mine, I'd say it's a paradox because of everything we've got going on around the world in present day. Taking a delve into ten years from now, into 2035, I feel like there are loads of positive things to come; however, I can't help but recognize some negativity that might surface at that point in time given what we're seeing presently, and in this article I'll be stating my opinion on what I feel like the year 2035 would be like.
Like I said, predicting the next 10 years is more of a paradox, and that's because it's a mix of speculation and informed guesses based on current happenings and trends. One of the notable things I'm certain would have gained ground and be making waves then is technology and artificial intelligence. I believe AI especially would have been integrated into most of our daily lives, to the point where it'll positively influence and assist us in our businesses, healthcare, and education. Recently we've seen fully robotic surgical procedures in the near future; I believe it'll become a norm that's widely used.
I also believe that in top world countries by that time there would have been a massive adoption of technology to the point where automation and robotics would have taken over most jobs, making job delivery more efficient and cheaper for business owners; on the other hand, it's indirectly displacing humans and leaving them with little or no jobs to do.
By that point in time, I also believe they would have had a breakthrough in genetics and biotechnology, which might most likely go on to extend human lifespan. A few days ago, I was watching a documentary that showcased research scientists are undergoing in that regard, and I believe they would have made progress by then.
Regarding our economy and society, I, for one, believe that with what we're seeing presently, by 2035 cryptocurrency and digital banking would have spread their wings farther, making them more widely adopted because they hold the potential to reshape the financial system of the world. I also believe that by then, there will be more remote work that doesn't need you to be on-site in person, and there can go on to grow the economy as it makes work more flexible.
While on the aspect of geopolitics and security, I fear that there are loads of threats to come in those aspects; it'll be pure luck if by that time war hasn't broken out between more nations of the world with what we're seeing presently, especially here in my country, Nigeria. I'm afraid there might be an insurgence that'll shape the country before that very year, and all of these might make nations struggle with their economic disparity, not forgetting the rate at which cybersecurity threats would come due to the AI-driven technology we use. These can lead to digital warfare between nations.
That's about it, and overall I believe that the world will be AI-driven by the year 2035, leading to substantial technological advancement that's good for the world. but not forgetting that some challenges loom in aspects such as economic inequality, security threats, and climate change, but overall I'm hoping for the best, and hopefully things will be on a positive note then.
