1 Corinthians 16 vs 13-14 King James Version (KJV)
13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
14 Let all your things be done with charity.
From the above scripture, Apostle Paul wants us to learn some things as follows:
1.Stand firm in Faith
a.To stand firm is to persevere and not deviating
b.Faith is the things hoped for and not seen.The bible describes Faith as in Romans 10 vs17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
c.The only way to persevere in life is using the tools that God has provided in
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
2.Be strong;This means to be strengthened.Strength comes from God,it comes by a word spoken to us by God himself.
Joshua 1vs 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
3.Be men of courage that is act like a man,Be a man!
Quit ye like men actually implies a decisive action and not quitting,be Godly,one of getting involved to deter an action of detrimental consequence.
The question is where are the Godly men?
There are many men today that are living godless lives and not even thinking about it,where are the men who are going to lead their families and have family devotions?where are the men that will live for God at work and read their bibles?where are the men who pray and care for their children?
The christian Faith Needs godly men
1 Timothy 6 vs 11
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
We must dedicate our lives to Christ,flee from sin and purse righteousness. living a godly life must be our way as men and women.
Why should you live as Godly men?
Micah 6 vs 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
It is obvious that men in our society do not see why it is important to live a godly life.If they did,we will not see so many wayward children today,if not the society will be a better place.Christianity needs men who will not only decide to read the truth of the bible but also believe the truth of the bible and obey the truth completely.

You can live a godly life
whatever may be your profession,we all should live godly life,this applies not only to men but everyone. Living a godly life though very difficult will require self-control and discipline. You need to live a godly life not necessarily because you want to be successful in your line of work but first to honour God,to bring honour to our families and to be a role model for our children to do this you have to;
Start praying earnestly;Prayer is a walk with God and to get to know him more,it is pouring out your life before God and seeking God's will for your life.
Psalm 119 vs 9-16 King James Version (KJV)
9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Read your bible daily;study God's word and you will understand the heart of God better.
These things will enable you stand during adversity,the combination of these two things will enable you to be quick to forgive when others offend you.
We live in a society that men are expected to do things such as cursing,having affairs extramarital affairs,watching porn ,being aggressive and so on,but God calls us to live a life where everything you do is to honour and glorify God.
Being Godly is not for the weak
1 Kings 2 vs1-3 King James Version (KJV)
Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;
3 And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.

Being godly is not for the weak,being godly is a lifestyle for every man in Christ. you can show the world that you are for Christ,that you love God.we need men and women in the society to show that they are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ,we need to let our light shine in darkness.
The question is are you a man that will put God first?will you live a godly life and answer the call of God or will you continue to live a selfish live? I pray that all that read this will become Godly men.
