Irola – A’mara Complex

“That’s four gold shaze badges awarded this year,” Saraca said that evening. “That may be a record – at least since I’ve been Abári.”

“I think it’s time to pay these guys a visit – we want to give out a diamond badge to one of these four, I think!” Ja’tel said.

“That would be fun, wouldn’t it?” Saraca agreed. “It may be a bit challenging though, seeing as they are traveling now.”

“I would also suggest that Zilan makes not only a great maqla, but would be ideal for teaching students about shadow living – as an abári.”

“I can’t imagine he would agree to that,” Saraca said realistically.

“He won’t wear a fringe,” Ja’tel admitted. “But he will never turn away a worthy student.”

“It would also cause many of our members to question what it means to be an abári. It’s too soon, for sure,” Saraca said. “In time, probably. But for now, yes, he will make an excellent maqla and maybe we can manage to send him students from time to time.”

The Distant Lands

The transport slowly made its way to the port.

“Are you feeling better,” Derick asked as they got their things together.

Kauri nodded. “Will we have a hoverbil?”

“Yes. We can travel together, just the two of us for awhile.”

Scamper and Streaker chittered.

“Yes, all of us!” Derick corrected himself, giving Streaker attention. “At the end of our journey, we will have our movie done – and we’ll know where we want to live, whenever the Neví aren’t too hot on our tails anyway!”

“This is better than any movie,” Kauri said nuzzling against her husband.

“I agree,” he said meeting her lips. “Anyway, we’d better be ready for immigration. Accents up!”

They joined the queue leaving the ship, stopping together at a small booth.

Kauri handed the woman their documents.

The immigration official quickly skimmed over the flyppapers, then applied an electronic stamp to them without blinking. She then looked at the two people in front of her.

“Welcome to Tarania, Mr and Mrs Kaarle.”
