Ich habe heute den CUB-Airdrop der neuen DeFi-Plattform von @leofinance bekommen und den Airdrop zum Anlass genommen, mich mit der Binance Smart Chain auseinander zu setzen.
Die Binance Smart Chain (BSC) ist im Wesentlichen ein zentralisierter Clone von Ethereum, der von der Binance-Börse betrieben wird, und zu Ethereum-kompatibel ist, was ein ziemlich großer Vorteil und ein genialer Schachzug von Binance ist.
Das heißt, man kann sehr einfach bestehende DApps und DeFi-Anwendungen von Ethereum auf Binance migrieren und wer Ethereum kennt, wird sich auch auf der BSC Chain schnell zurechtfinden.
Das größte Ass der BSC sind aber die geringen Fees. Laut User-Berichten bewegen sich die Fees derzeit im 10 Cent-Bereich, was ein enormer Vorteil gegenüber Ethereum ist, wo man für DeFi und NFTs mittlerweile horrende Gebühren zahlt.
Zusammenfassend:
Ethereum: dezentralisiert, hohe Fees
Binance Smart Chain: zentralisiert, geringe Fees
Binance Smart Chain im Brave Browser hinzufügen
Um die Binance Smart Chain im Brave Browser oder in MetaMask hinzuzufügen, muss man die BSC als ETH-Netzwerk hinzufügen:
- Crypto Wallet öffnen
- Rechts oben das Profil anklicken > Settings
- Networks
- Add Network mit folgenden Einstellungen

Bei Transaktionen sollte man immer die Gas Fees überprüfen, und ob man das richtige Netzwerk (BSC) eingestellt hat, bei mir werden die Fees in ETH angezeigt, obwohl die Fees mit BNB abgerechnet werden.
Es gibt auch ein eigenes "Binance Chain Wallet" Add-on, das allerdings ziemlich schlechte Bewertungen im Chrome Store hat.
Vielleicht ist MetaMask / Brave Browser vorläufig doch die bessere Lösung.

I got the CUB airdrop of the new DeFi platform from @leofinance today and took the airdrop as an opportunity to experiment with the Binance Smart Chain.
The Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is essentially a centralized clone of Ethereum run by the Binance exchange and is Ethereum-compatible, which is a pretty big advantage and a brilliant move by Binance.
This means you can very easily migrate existing DApps and DeFi applications from Ethereum to Binance, and those who know Ethereum will quickly find their way around the BSC Chain as well.
However, the biggest ace of BSC is low fees! According to user reports, the fees are currently in the 10 cent range, which is a huge advantage over Ethereum, where you now pay horrendous fees for DeFi and NFTs.
In summary:
Ethereum: decentralized, high fees
Binance Smart Chain: centralized, low fees
How to add Binance Smart Chain in Brave Browser
In order to add Binance Smart Chain in Brave Browser or MetaMask, you need to add the BSC chain as an ETH network:
- Open Crypto Wallet
- Click on the profile in the upper right corner > Settings
- Networks
- "Add network" with the following settings

Voilà!
For transactions you should always check the gas fees and that you have selected the right network (BSC), for me the fees are displayed in ETH, although the fees are settled with BNB.
There is also a separate Binance Chain Wallet add-on, but it has pretty bad ratings in the Chrome Store.
So the MetaMask / Brave Browser wallet is the better solution for now.
