Bom dia!
The thumbnail depicted, not to be confused with toe nail, raptors don't have thumbs, gives you an impression of my latest dino artwork. It's a piece that I minted and put up for sale on NFT showroom, earlier this afternoon.
Talking about raptors and nails, I wrote a little story - about the terror of nail filing - last June: Modern Times aka Why some raptors need to file their nails. It might be a fun read ( depending on your sensitivity ).
I worked on this particular piece - that I ended up naming 'Hypersensitive Toes' - for almost a week and a half. Not full time, of course, but still...
I don't remember having spent so much time on a single work of art, during the almost 4 decades that I've spent in this body.
It probably took even longer than it usually would have taken, because my laptop dropped on the floor ( with the screen open ) and stopped charging for a bit. Then, my laptop's touch pad and usb mouse stopped working and I ended up using my sister's Wacom / drawing tablet as a mouse instead.
Sometimes we need to be extra creative, I guess ;<)
Also I've got other things to do
I'm easily distracted
and I can't just focus on my art as much as I'd like ( sometimes life happens or breaks are needed ) but I'm working on putting more time into it as it makes me feel good and it gets my out of my hyperactive, overthinking mode and mind.
Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the result. This piece wasn't forced at all, there was no time pressure and it organically grew into something intriguing, step by little dino step.
Over time, the yellow flowers wilted - I forgot to water them - and one of them turned into a traffic sign. Dinos aren't cars though, so Li'l Hyper isn't breaking any rules here.
I could go on and on about this piece but I want to leave some stuff up to your imagination.
There is a story behind hypersensitivosaurus toe pain, that I won't reveal here as of yet.
Hypersensitive Toes is up for sale for 500 Hive ( about 75 US dollars ) and I feel it's worth every single cent. Funny enough, it's the most I've ever asked for my art. As I told my buddy @whatamidoing , I am working on not undervaluing myself, my time and my art any longer. This is the first step in that direction.
He asked me how I would feel if it didn't sell, if it would make me depressed? and I replied that it wouldn't. It would make me feel great though if it would actually sell, so if there's any Orca or Whale out there, who wants to make my day...
Gotta go for now, enjoy the sneak peak and yet another glimpse into my creative, hypersensitive, lizard brain.
To Be Continued...
