Who doesn't know Paulo Coelho?
I know about this author from Anggrek Lestari, she used to like reading Paulo Coelho's books because she liked literary books. At that time, I still liked pop readings like Ilana Tan and Alea Zalea, so I wasn't interested in reading Paulo Coelho's books which I assumed had very standard translations. But at least at that time I knew if I needed readings from popular world literary authors, I could go anywhere. And after almost 10 years, Paulo Coelho's book is finally in my hands. I chose this book because it is thin, this is the first try so if later I like his writing I can buy other books.
The decision to buy this book was because I saw it was on sale. So you could say I was a bit impulsive to buy this book. but that's okay, for the sake of tasting Paulo Coelho's writing.
Let’s get it.
The Alchemist tells the story of a boy named Santiago, a shepherd in the suburbs of Spain. He likes a girl who is surprised when she finds out he can read. Santiago likes to borrow books and read them while shepherding. One day he went to a dream expert because he kept having the same dream several times. The dream said that he would find a treasure in the city of Egypt. Hearing this, the dream interpreter did not ask for payment, instead asking for some parts if the Treasure really existed. Because of that, Santiago began his journey to hunt for the Treasure. He was hesitant, but a man later convinced him to go. The man was really strange to Santiago, and in the end Santiago called him the alchemist.

After selling his sheep to pay for the trip to the treasure, Santiago began his journey. On the way he met people who ended up stealing his money. Santiago then worked at a crystal shop to collect money to return to Spain, but who would have thought that his journey would be more meaningful after that.
Paulo Coelho hides a hidden message in this book. Santiago's journey to Egypt is a very amazing journey. I even think that the treasure mentioned in his dream is actually a journey that makes him gain many experiences, insights, and new friends. Compared to being a shepherd who he thought would always understand him, meeting people with many characters is the most amazing thing. Santiago is lucky, but it turns out that the treasure really exists. But the effort to get the treasure is what surprised me and made me say wow.
I rate this book with 4.5 from 5 start; Addicted!

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
