I use the most out of every season, it's different after I changed my diet, my thoughts, trying to control my emotions and got rid of many bad habits that were destroying me. Now after almost a year I live in the presence, got a lot healthier, raised my values, the way I treat myself and gave focus on all the good hobbies that give me joy, rush my adrenalin & gets my blood racing.
You can probably guess my favorite Winter hobby by now..
Snowboarding!
Among many hobbies and ever evolving daily routines spending time out nature is my most important one of them all, because it's good for my body, my mind and my soul as well. Spending more time outside on the fresh air clears my thoughts, gets me creative, gives me time to get new ideas and allows me to be in presence.
When the snow covers the hills and I prepared my snowboard to take it with me the experience out in nature is enhanced. It's easier to move threw nature, Winter makes familiar nature look like one out of a fairy tale!
Why do I enjoy it?
Because I Love winter and enjoyed being out in the snow ever since I was a little boy. It's a season that brings back many good, warm memories and it allows me to slide threw the powdery snow all over again.
It wakes up my inner child, fills me with joy, special energy, adrenalin and it teaches me life lessons!
My father got me on skis when I was 10 years old, he was skiing even on wooden ones, back in the old days. He is probably the main person that got me to love the snow, from building iglues, a snowman or even castles, as we had a lot more snow & time.
As I grew older I started wanting a snowboard more and more till I bought a used one almost 9 years ago. It took me a long time to get a hang of it, with one or two days of learning by a friend that was teaching, many falls, failures and loughs. It thought me to be persistent and to never quit!
Last few years I only use my snowboard on an unprepared powder in hills surrounding my village, occasionally I go higher with my friends. I plan the day before where I want to go, then when time comes I dress up, jump in my boots and take my snowboard out on some fresh air.
Today the snow was just perfect, last two nights were cold of around -5 degrees and made the conditions just perfect, leaving over 20 cm of snow to have fun in!
Woke up at 8am, had a great breakfast with a cup of tea, cleaned my apartment, washed the dishes and went out to have fun, explore, get better at snowboarding, maybe jump one time, see a wild animal and most of all fill myself with positive energy and a super healthy exercise in/with our mother nature

How do I do it?
As I live on top of a hill I start with the fun part, first I warm up my arms, legs and joints. Then I get on my snowboard and plan where I want to go and what do I need to watch out for. Then..
Falls and failed attempts are lessons to be overcome, lessons to never ever quit, and get rewarded with fun, joy, pleasure and beauty of Winter.
Lesson on persistence is when going to the top for several times or while I go on a longer route far away from home it teaches me to be persistent, to get on top of the hill, remembering how amazing feeling it is shredding threw the hill to the bottom and repeating.
What do you need?
- complete snowboard cheap & simple
- snowboarding boots your size
- some snow
- a friend to teach you basics (nowadays there is a lot of tutorials on Youtube)
- a water bottle full
- skiing glasses for clear vision and eye protection
& I prefer learning on a skiing resort of some kind on a prepared surface
Thank you very kindly for all the support I've been getting, all the weekend topics and the motivation that makes me enjoy even more, get more creative and go further with my adventures threw our beautiful mother nature's fairy tale.
I've had an amazing day today rewarded with a great exercise, awesome view, wild animal spotting, pure joy in the snow, the need for speed and shredding turns down our hill's. Unexpected happened when someone with an enduro motorbike drove threw, down the same hill and left me a sprinkle of petrol fumes in the air, that is great for a petrol head like me. :)
When I got back home I made myself some healthy muffins without suggar nor flour and a nice dinner with chicken & veggies.
