The Game Awards 2021 are over and many awesome and exciting trailers were presented.
As a passionate PC gamer for me the announcements for upcomming PC games are of major interest.
Lets take a look on what to expect in 2022.
(If you have not already make sure to check out the Winners of the Game Awards 2021 in my last post)
The list below does not follow any particular order. Information provided is taken from what we heard from the devs so far.
I hope you find something of your interest 😀
Dune: Spice Wars
Real Time Strategy
To secure the Spice, we fight in Dune: Spice Wars in strategic battles based on the 4X principle. But it is also possible to achieve your goal through trade and diplomatic skill. Each of the playable factions requires different approaches.
Alan Wake 2
Survival Horror
Alan Wake has become sort of a favorite for many Remedy Entertainment fans over the years. And those fans should be happy that Creative Director Sam Lake also stepped onto the stage at the Game Awards and had an early Christmas present in his luggage: Alan Wake 2 is coming! Apart from this confirmation, we have to be patient a little longer, because the game should not appear until 2023 at the earliest.
Nightingale
Action-Adventure
Why an open world when you can have several of them at once? As a "Shared World Survival Crafting Game", Nightingale offers us several open worlds, all of which offer a different biome. In the survival game by former Bioware developers, we explore these worlds as so-called realmwalkers, fight against monsters, build villages and craft close-range and long-range weapons such as rifles. Nightingale can be played alone, but the focus is more on multiplayer and is reminiscent of games like Valheim.
Arc Raiders
Multiplayer Shooter
After Patrick Söderlund left the Battlefield developer DICE, he founded Embark Studios. The first project of the new team is called Arc Raiders and relies on a Free2Play model. As a multiplayer action game, Arc Raiders will require teamwork to protect the planet from a mechanized threat from space.
Star Wars Eclipse
Action Adventure
Fans of Star Wars and story-heavy Quantic Dream games can look forward to it. Star Wars Eclipse was announced with a first trailer. Many hard facts are not yet known, but it is very likely that it will play out in a similarly decisive and emotional way as Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human.
Lost Ark
Action RPG
The Korean action role-playing MMO finally got a release date for Europe at the Game Awards and came up with a new trailer. We can plunge into the world of Arkesia on February 11, 2022. If you have a Founder Pack, you can even start a few days earlier.
One of the most anticipated RPGs next year.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
Third Person Shooter
Fresh food for the popular Warhammer 40k universe. The third-person shooter, which was released in 2011 and is very popular with fans, is getting a successor. The title is developed by Saber Interactive. In the announcement trailer we can already see one characteristic of the game: It will be pretty brutal again. A release period has not yet been announced.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt
Battle Royal
The Vampire: The Masquerade franchise is getting one new title. This time it goes with Bloodhunt in Battle Royal skirmishes on the streets of Prague. The Free-2-Play title takes place in the same universe as the popular RPG series, but the gameplay could hardly be any different. As bloodsuckers, you use supernatural powers and weapons to be the last survivor at the end of a battle.
Star Trek: Resurgence
Action Adventure
Attention Trekkies: A new Star Trek game is approaching - well, unfortunately it is still a while before we land. It shouldn't be ready until 2022.
The action of the game begins shortly after the events of the series Star Trek: The Next Generation. You play both first mate Jara Rydek and engineer Carter Diaz. Together they are on the trail of a secret between two alien races.
Other than that, many DLCs, Addons and remakes were announced and acompanied with sweet trailers, but to list them all would probably exceed the extend of a single post :)
What is your favourite?
Any big titles you're looking for next year?
My personal favourite is actually not listed as it should already be for sale but has been postponed till February 2022 ... Total War: Wahammer 3
