"I would like to greet all my colleague here on Hive before we will start this long story. I hope your morning has been pleasant. If so, that is so nice to hear. Today I would like to share one of the most memorable moment of mine, “MY GRADUATION DAY”.
All of us are excited when graduation day is coming, right? Not only the students are excited but also the parents. Graduation day is the one of very important day for us young people whose taking education. This is the period we claim the recognition we work for. Recognition is not only for those who can receive medals or awards, but this is for all the students who did their best just to prove that they are also capable of to be included in the “LIST OF GRADUATING STUDENT”.
Holding that diploma felt amazing. I knew I'd earned it through hard work, and that was a great feeling. The best part of graduation was seeing everyone smiling. Usually, only my mom came to my graduations and look for her in the crowd. But this time, everyone did. My father was there, too. I saw him taking pictures. It made me feel warm inside. I noticed my relatives talking and laughing together. It wasn't just about me getting the diploma, it was about everyone being together. That's what made it memorable.
From elementary until junior high school, my father was not there cheer me up on my graduation ceremonies, whether I received awards or not. This situation became familiar to us, only my mother alone is present during graduation. My elementary years, I asked repeatedly to my father's to attendance my graduation, but he only responded me saying, 'I have a lot of work obligations, I do not have time for that graduation. You can bring your mother with you.' These simple words broke my heart so deeply, I felt the tears dropping from my eyes, touches my cheek, and down to my chin.
Fast forward, unexpectedly I got one achievement from my school, exactly the day where I found another hope to hold on, believing that achieving as one of the honorable mention in the class might finally convince his presence. This dream of materialization during my junior high school graduation was a regret, still my mother who came and attended alone, citing the same reasons as before. This led me to a question whether those previous academic achievement will still be continue until senior high school. Could I still be the same as hard working as before? Self-doubt is sinking into my mind; I can’t get him out. I doubted the possibility of repeating my junior high success. I did not actively seek achievement at those moment of senior high school, but I still focused on giving my best, of course. I was blessed to receive an achievement at my senior high school graduation, which was completely unexpected. I was eager to share this news with my mother, but TBH, I don’t want to inform my father, cause of fearing another absence.
On the day of our pictorial, my father simply dropped me off at school. Upon returning home, I was surprised to find him fully dressed. My mother talked to me, 'Your father will be attending your graduation.', This was an unexpected. I witnessed my father hurriedly preparing for my graduation. No one knows, I was in shocked, and no idea what to say.
One of the common truths about our fathers is that, though not always vocal or visibly supportive and hold a very much excitement for their child's graduation. Remember to rely on your own strength, master your emotions, and understand that your aspirations is through your own effort. Our parents are proud, all parents are proud but they don't have enough courage to show or say it to you.
Have a nice day everyone!! See you on my next post:)
