Hello everyone, welcome to my blog as I make my entry to this week's social media challenge. This week's challenge like last week's is themed, "Baron's Bounty". I will be providing some more details on this special event.
Just to recap and to give a summary of what I spoke about last week, this is a special event the splinterlands team have put together to celebrate the bitcoin halving event. The bitcoin halving event took place last week which has seen the mining rewards of BTC reduce to 3.2 BTC from 6.5 BTC. To read all I wrote about, click here.
Time left at the time of writing
This Baron's Bounty promotional event that has been organized already started even before the bitcoin halving itself and is still in play. It started on the 16th of April, 2024 and at the time of writing, will end in 4 days, 9hours and 3 minutes time.
Baron's Bounty is a promotional event that is allowing splinterland players to buy two new promotional limited edition cards. This promotion is meant to run for a period of 15 days which would allow interested players buy the cards with $DEC and or credits. You can also use Vouchers to buy.
The two new cards that are on promotion will only be available for purchasing during this Baron event. After this event, you will only be able to get it from other players in the marketplace if they are choose to list it or to sell to you. The two new cards players on promotion are the Baron Fyatt and the Henchling Enforcer.

There are prizes to be won which include; 500 PLOT tokens 100 Alpha packs, 500 Untamed Packs, 20 Runi NFTs, 50 Essence Orb Packs, 250 Beta packs and 100 Azmare Dice Packs. You stand a chance of acquiring some of these prizes when you buy the cards. But it will be based on how many points you are able to amass. Per each purchase with DEC / Credits, you get 1 point. When you get up to 10000 points, you then have a chance of winning one of the prizes that have been listed.
Prizes
Now, let's talk about what I didn't add last week.
I spoke about earning points for each dec / credits used to buy the cards but these points have bonus points. Players will receive x3 points on day one of the Baron's Bounty but this will decrease evenly until the last day. This means on the last day of the event, there is no multiplier.
The leaderboard at the time of writing
Did you know that there are more prizes aside the ones I have listed above? There are going to be leaderboard prizes. These prizes are going to be special in game titles you can win by claiming a top spot on the leaderboard. This isn't the regular battle leaderboard but a special Baron's leaderboard
Leaderboard and bonus prizes
The first 10 will get the title, "The Burninator", the 11th - 60th will be called, "The Incinerator" and the 61st to 200th will get the title, "The Scorcher". Also, the top 20 players on the leaderboard will get extra promo cards. This will include guaranteed gold foil cards. These gold foil cards are pre combined before distribution. So, the higher you climb the leaderboard, the more cards you receive.
