Friends, Gangotri Dham is located in the Uttarkashi district of the Uttarakhand state of India and it is one of the major pilgrimage sites of Hinduism, which is very famous. Gomukh is 19 kilometers away from Gangotri, which is the inner corner of the Gangotri glacier and the Ganges river is also believed to originate from here. On the basis of mythological religion, this temple was built in the 18th century near this sacred rock and it is believed that Goddess Bhagirathi touched the earth at this place and it is also said that the Pandavas also came to this place and performed a great Dev Yagya ritual to seek peace for their family members who were killed in the Mahabharata war and since then this place is considered to be very sacred. Mahadevi is worshipped in Gangotri Dham and she is known as the Mahadevi who removes all the sins from the birth of life till death.
Gangotri Dham: This Dham is the highest temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The holy river Ganga originates from Gangotri Kaleshwar and becomes Bhagirathi.
