A New Season of Reviews - A Challenge accepted!
The nefarious trio of World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons are set to get their new Codexes next. Actually, the great FOUR are each getting their favourite Legion's new Codexes but Emperor's Children did not have an actual Index before.
Anyway. I was speaking to my friend @nicolaasmuller about how my Review posts might not make a lot of money for me, but that cumulatively and on average some of them do good and overall there is an average that at least means that there is good movement of income into the Hobby Fund and that it would grow from there.
We were throwing around some numbers and looking at the average of my last 10 Review Posts, 20 Review posts and 30 Review Posts and we could come up with a range of how much I should theoretically be making across a large sample size of completing the remainder of the reviews for the nefarious trio mentioned above.
So Nicolaas says to me something along the lines of: That would be pretty cool if you could do it in like, a month. Maybe do like 2 a day.
So I explained it would be a little bit more than that but sure... it would be cool... is that a challenge? And yeah... here I am... Challenge accepted. 😎
It is now Day 15 of the Challenge. - I am counting this one for yesterday because of the flick-flack of nightshift work, nearly oversleeping etc etc... and its 3:45am and now I cannot sleep... meh...
Totals so far: 21/70 Datasheets done, 3/3 Army Rules done, 0/6 Detachment Rules done. Total 24/79.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $291 to pay off!

Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
639 days since the start of 10th Edition.

Thousand Sons, Thousand Sons Cultists
10th Edition Index
It is interesting to see how each type of mortal Cultist squad gives bonuses to their respective armies.
Death Guard (Nurgle) Cultists spread the plague and in the right detachment, gets to do sticky objectives and have scouts!
Jakhals for World Eaters (Khorne) actually have a fairly decent chance in melee but also have great synergy bonuses if you can keep an Icon on an objective.
Now we have the Thousand Sons (Tzeetch) Cultists. As far as I can tell... they can be sacrificed for CP.
At 55pts for 10 and 110pts for a unit of 20, we now have our answer as to what to run instead of the most disappointing Chaos Spawn in the series. Thousand Sons Chaos Spawn
A Box of 10 of them are $58.

Weapons
Standard Weapons are: Cultist Firearm and Brutal Assault Weapons.
For every 10 models, 1 model their Cultist Firearm with a Flamer.
For every 10 models, 1 model their Cultist Firearm with a Heavy Stubber.
For every 10 models, 1 model their Cultist Firearm with a Grenade Launcher.
So there is no reason not to run all 3 of these in a 10 man unit and 2 of each in a 20 man unit.
Ranged Weapons
Cultist Firearm
24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Grenade Launcher - Frag option
24" Range, D3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Blast (Add +1 Attack for every 5 models in target unit, rounding up)
Grenade Launcher - Krak option
24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S9, AP-2 and D3 Damage each.
Heavy Stubber
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 3 (At half range of 18", gain 3 additional attacks)
Flamer
12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (This weapon hits automatically. Just roll for the Qty hits)
Ignores Cover (The enemy does not get a Benefit of Cover against this attack)
Melee Weapons
Brutal Assault Weapon
2 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Scouts 6" (Before the first turn has been taken, you can move 6" with this unit)
Pawns of Fate
Each time this unit destroys an enemy unit, roll a dice. On a 2+, gain 1CP.
When this unit is destroyed, roll a dice, on a 2+ gain 1CP.
Thoughts
CP is Command Points. A valuable resource in a game.
The chances of a Cultist squad killing anything is low and situational.
Dying seems far more possible to them to do. So 55pts, for a 10 man. Go claim some objectives, do some actions and when its necessary, try kill the last Space Marine in a unit or something like that or die for a good chance at free CP.
That makes 11 Thousand Sons Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 39.28% Completed. The total Completed is 30.02% Complete! Can I review them all?!
