Today, I am thinking about the virtue of suffering and finding motivation to enjoy right now.
Success and Suffering
So Xenophon was a Greek historian and philosopher whose numerous surviving works are valuable for their depiction of late Classical Greece and a strong influence on Latin literature. His words have endured 2500 years and still ring true which is as legit as it gets.
Pride and blindness of heart seem to be a little more common these days and it seems strange to equate that to success. When you consider levels of success resulting in many millions of dollars and ridiculous lifestyle, it makes more sense.
Suffering doesn't seem too glamorous if you ask me though it produces some tough and resilient people. I don't feel I have suffered much at all thankfully but definitely can see the patience and strength that have been developed when times were not so great.
I believe success comes with some level of suffering, strength & patience so here's hoping we can also learn to temper pride and stay true to our hearts.

20 years
As far as I can tell, Rich Webster is an entrepreneur, designer, and author of How to Work Less. I am alright with all of these things.
As an optimist, I always tend to believe even better years are on the horizon. Surely there comes a point when that is not true but I will battle it as long as I can. To think 20 years into the future hurts my head a little as I will be no spring chicken if I even live that long. Assuming I make it, I would like to think I have a few of these things figured out and will be in a position to live a simpler end of life. Not, look back to now and wish it was like this. Maybe because I take my health for granted.
Debate it or not, assuming I would give anything to be as young and healthy as I am, taking a sec to enjoy all we have is always a good thing. Maybe we can take it that one step further and draw energy to make the most out of what we do have.
The last song would have worked for this one as well with the lyrics "Live for today and forget about tomorrow." The word 'moment' popped out at me and this is a pretty emotional song about this moment and subtracting 20 years from a life if you would stay.
