I am all about the music, having listened and played for decades. I usually post #thoughtfuldailypost (@Wesphilbin waves the @thoughtfulposts flag) on Thursdays and have incorporated music for quite a while. So, why not switch it up and join the fun on #threetunetuesday as well?
To set the tone, I have been working on perfecting the lyrics of this song for a show we have coming up.
Baby we are born to run.

Forgiveness

Morgan Richard Olivier is a best-selling author, speaker, wife, and mental health advocate known for her empathic voice, thought-provoking writing, and heartfelt perspective on healing, growth, and identity. That is a slate full right there and we could all use a little healing & growth.
Ah mistakes. Those little failures that feel so awful but are the key to learning. Not when accepted, but when contemplated and accepted as a lesson that inspires new behaviour. Those failures certainly are not fun, or the objective of any endeavour, but essential along the path of wisdom.
Accepting that we did the best we could with what we knew at the time can seem like a cop out. Especially when we ignore some of the things we might know and just be wrong. I suppose that is just a part of the "what you knew at the time." Wisdom, to me, is learning those lessons the hard way sometimes, and that inner monologue saying something like, "Alright dummy. We are not going to do that again now that we know how it should be done, right?" It might seem like a pretty negative inner voice but I have come to know it comes from the right place when battling procrastination and laziness.
It is the forgiveness that is the battle sometimes. Key to moving forward might be to accept all those failures as they come on the way toward success.
I hear Don Henley is a purebred asshole but man he has so much personality in his voice. The heart of the matter is forgiveness.

Perseverance

As far as I can tell through extensive internet research, the author of this quote is Brenda S. Mullen and she can apparently use some webpage help! Some sort of therapist from Pennsylvania as far as I can tell and this quote carried some weight for me.
It is wild to live decades before coming to terms that we are the project we are working on. All of the things we work on in our lives, education, hobbies, relationships, passions, professional endeavours, all of it. They are just parts of the greater project?
When I consider all of the lessons of the past and the sum of all the results, doesn't seem like much. I am not wealthy, free, or even overly comfortable but am left with what I am. Never really feeling like it is enough, knowing I will get through it, but sick of having to go through it sometimes. A bunch of false start projects or just somewhere along the line working on the big project? So easy to get swept up in all of that and forget it is always okay to restart, reset and refocus. Not throwing the baby out with the bathwater but little reboots to start clean in certain ways.
The last sentence is the anchor or the knockout punch. Just don't give up. A black belt is a white belt who never quit. We are all working towards our black belts in so many things. True it is really just another new beginning when we reach it but perseverance is essential in the greatest project. What will you become?
One of my favourite Canadian bands and their inspirational lyrics! Just don't give up, hold your head up high and Never Surrender.

So happy to be combining #threetunetuesday and #thoughtfuldailypost with some thoughtfulness and music. If being thoughtful is up your alley, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.
@thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is the post that started it all way back in 2020!
Here's to introspection, discussion and MUSIC!
