Hello my friends. Today I will write about my failed attempt to buy some hive from moonpay.io
From the first moment I saw @aggroed's post about the possibility to buy hive coins with credit cards, I thought this is my chance to increase my hive power cause it will be very easy because I won't have to buy BTC first, then send them to exchanges in order to convert them into hive and finally send the coins at my hive wallet. Also, I haven't completed the verification at any platform that I could buy btc with a credit card and I do not really want to. At moonpay you have a limit of 150 usd per month which is more than fine to me.
Five days ago, my first attempt to buy hive from moonpay was a total failure. I ordered about 85 hive at the price of 20 euros. When I proceeded to checkout I was informed that I have to pay 5 euro fee for the service moonpay was providing. The fee is a little high but I didn't care that moment, I thought next time I am going to buy more so the fee will not be the 25% of my payment.
I put my cards details and when I clicked at the buy button a pop-up message appeared which was saying "buy.moonpay.io says Hive". Nothing was happening after that and I tried again with the same results. Furthermore a text message came at my mobile phone which was from the bank informing me that my card has been blocked.
The next day I called my bank and they informed me that they blocked my card because of a suspicious zero transaction from a company called moonpay. I told them that I have made the transaction and they unblocked my card. Also I asked them if I am able to buy from this site and generally if they block the transactions with cryptocurrency sites and they told me that I can use my card to buy crypto from moonpay.
When the bank unblocked my card I tried again but the same pop-up message was emerging. I sent an email to the support of moonpay and the next day they replied to me that their technical team have identified the issue and I should be able to purchase in the next 30 minutes. Indeed after 1 hour that I tried the pop up message stopped to emmerge but my card was declined.
I called the bank again and they told me that maybe moonpay is not accepting their card and they did not decline the transaction. After my communication with the bank I sent again at the moonpay support a message and asked them if they accept the type of my credit card and they replied that thay accept it and maybe the bank may have its own terms of use for cards, and it may choose to decline my transaction.
So moonpay says that accepts my card and the bank says that allow me to use my credit card to buy from them but my transaction is declined. So I stop trying to buy from them and I am looking for another way to buy some hive. If you know any platform that doesn't need verification and it is easy to use. Please let me know. I am thinking that If I buy a small sum of hives every month my power will increase very quickly and also my earnings.
Also I would like to know which platform do you use to buy your cryptos.
