MYTH 1. They don't give you power, they take it.

MYTH 2. Politics is a dirty business, an honest person has nothing to do there.
In fact: There is no free market. The maximum one can become without engaging in politics is a highly paid professional who works for the most junior representative of the real government - a hired manager. Power is the most important thing in the world, and in order to succeed, a person must be a politician. No one is interested in what you can do or your ideas. It's important to everyone what they'll get out of it.
MYTH 3. They've got everything covered there, and they've got their own people everywhere.
In fact: Reliable people in power are worth their weight in gold. But power rests on the willingness to obey it. No one will obey someone who has few loyal and intelligent supporters. Therefore, "their own" become untouchable.
