Happy Friday!
Hope everyone's having an awesome day. Mine has been long, but I survived. I just wanted to show some love for functional prints. I printed a caliper set in order to measure millimeters. Honestly, I did not think it would be so accurate. But it was.
I used my 3D printed calipers to measure the exact dimensions for a project I've been on the fence about. I have a pair of beats headphones and the buttons/microphone piece is missing the back cover. I'm not much of a designer so I kept putting it off. I finally decided I would give it a shot, and to my surprise it worked perfectly. I'll share the final product along with some timelapses of the prints used to get there.
This worked way too easily. Kudos to the designer. It definitely was not me.
The actual piece was very small and simple I used TinkerCAD to design an exact part to fit. After a little trimming and glue, we had a winner.
Here's the actual calipers.
The best hobby.
I really can't explain it. This hobby has helped me escape reality time after time.

Have an awesome weekend.
