Undermining the value of stakeholders’ in a given project always results in failure.
As long as the management aspects of a project are concerned, stakeholder management plays substantial role towards the achievements of every single milestones and to the success of the greater outcomes
In my experience I have seen so many projects that end up with faller due to the limited concern given to the need and interest of its stakeholders.
Falling to realize what the different need and interests of stakeholders is the source for many problems including conflict of interests and lack of trustworthiness. As a project manager, identifying stakeholders of your project and clearly realizing what they want out of your project helps you spot out areas of conflict and develop sustainable conflict mitigation approaches as well.
The very essence of stakeholders’ expectations has to be traced using different approaches through which you make them clarify their ideas. Having the clear understanding of what they want gives you road map on how to respond with respect the varied interests’ of stakeholders and how to engage them to their highest level of participation.
Therefore, establishing real understanding and then bringing that understanding in to an agreement with all of your project stakeholders is skillful approaches or you cannot succeed otherwise.
