       We are very happy because of the reception that this section has had. It has been a beautiful challenge where we have created, together, good Christmas stories.
       *Today is our third edition of We leave you the end and we are eager to read the new things you will create.

Heart on guard
       A few know how hard a doctor can live. It is almost always thought that they live full of luxuries, and although it is not completely false, neither is it that behind all these supposed comforts, there is, also, sacrifice; days attached to each other by the vigil cord and very frequent encounters in the face of death; doctors save lives at the expense of theirs.
       Julian del Moral was a young doctor with a small family. He had two children: Camila, the oldest, dreams of being a dancer and MartÃn, the youngest, yearns to be a fireman. There was also Alice, her love and companion. She was a chef, although she left the culinary arts to dedicate herself to her children. Of that time shared, Julian was the one who contributed the least. On his shoulders weighed the maintenance of his home.
       Certainly, he has missed many good times with his family. Time is what he has the least, but he loves his children so much that no matter how tired he gets from the day, he puts aside all his exhaustion to show his love.
       Alice and the children understand his silent sacrifice. They learned, harshly, the trade of patience, that Dad exists, but that he is not always there; she learned, icily, that sometimes the bed warms up only with her body.
       December had arrived with all its energetic troop, Camila and Martin loved this time, like all the children with this illusion.
       Everyone was happy, because their parents had planned to go out on New Year’s Eve. Finally, they would share as a family, since on Christmas Eve, Julian had to be absent due to an emergency at the hospital.
       This time,it would be different. The family, together, would go to meet with friends to receive the new year in an iconic place in their town.
       All citizens attended the place to share a good time, give good wishes and receive hugs under a chromatic and pyrotechnic night sky.
       The rosy fingers of the December 30th morning had appeared in the sky. Julian was already in the hospital cafeteria, hurrying his coffee and the last bite of his sandwich. He was in the emergency, he took care of some patients and he passed the consultation.
       So the afternoon came and with it, the time to get ready to go home. He went up to the floor of his service and from the entrance he saw how many colleagues crowded in the corridor, near a billboard. He noticed long faces and other very happy ones, they took their things and they left without further delay.
       Julian approached the place, trying to read what the ad was saying. A strange hunch marked a desperate rhythm in his chest. Mauricio Acosta, an old friend and colleague, cheered with happiness, but upon realizing the proximity of his friend, he simply put out his hubbub, turned his eyes away and gave space for Julian to see.

       His eyes did not believe what he read. He did not understand, since he had negotiated with his chief of service that he would be free that day, he had managed to make the change of guard with another colleague. He made the claim, but he could not do anything else. The partner with whom he had closed the deal, had to leave the city because of a family emergency.
       With what face would he tell his family that he would not be there again? Alicia understood, sadly, but she knew that she should support her beloved apostle. They agreed not to say anything until after the next day lunch. That night, Julian wept with sadness, Alicia consoled him with beautiful words.
       Come the day of December 31, during lunch, Julian announced the infamous news. The children's faces darkened. Alicia took the hand of her husband and told the children that God had given the honorary work to his daddy, to be his hands on earth and to try to understand. The sweet children, raised as oaks, made the effort to understand everything. They accepted it, but they did not understand it.
       Soon after, Julian kissed them tenderly at the door of his house; he said goodbye for that day...
