Hi Steemians,
I have been speaking a lot on the need to add value on the blockchain. The reality is that there are infinite ways to do it. If we think about problems that any person in the steemit community may want to solve, and somebody brings the solution that is adding value!
We can mention the fact that adding value is the way to make Steem and Steemit grow, and we can explain what adding value is, but I think that examples are a powerful way to show how something can be achieved!
Lets order it from the most simple ways, to more complex.
Example 1: Commenting on Posts in a way that adds value for the blogger, the post, and readers, as well as users and just visitors.
I definitely recommend you to check this recent post from @cryptographic about the Kraken Exchange, and see how several people are commenting in this Blog Post: https://steemit.com/howto/@cryptographic/howto-buy-crypto-part-4-kraken
Here is an example of one of the comments:
A post from @taskmaster4450 is a must read! https://steemit.com/steem/@taskmaster4450/i-made-usd230-in-7-days-just-from-posting-comments-on-steem-you-can-too
He has made over $200 USD in a week, just from commenting with value. That is a clear example of a person that is adding value on everything he comments. If our comment will not add value, lets ask ourselves, is this comment worth of doing? If the answer is not, better not to comment.
Example 2: Creating a Post with a solution to an issue that many users have been going through
The other day I was having some trouble in getting some Steem I bought on Bitshares dex, back to the Steem Wallet. And reason is that Openledger dex has the steem and sbd wallets in maintenance. But there was a solution, the rudex gateway is working so I exchanged the Open.Steem pair with Rudex.Steem pair and I was able to get the steem on the steem wallet and power up!
Here is the Post on how to do it:
https://steemit.com/bitshares/@gold84/bitshares-do-you-have-some-open-steem-stacked-and-can-t-withdraw-it-because-openledger-has-steem-wallet-on-maintenance-here-is
Example 3: Creating a series of posts explaining how to use a certain feature of the Steem Blockchain
Here is @lukebrn posting a series of posts explaining about different cryptos:
- Bitshares: https://steemit.com/bitshares/@lukebrn/daily-cryptocurrency-what-is-bitshares
- Omesego: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@lukebrn/what-s-omisego-the-cryptocurrency-unbanking-the-banked
- Tron: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@lukebrn/what-is-tron-the-cryptocurrency-that-is-shooting-up-in-value
Example 4: Suggesting Ideas to make an improvement for the Frontend or any aspect of the Platform or improvements for other developments on the Steem Blockchain
@ura-soul has presented his idea to improve Steemit sign up process: https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@ura-soul/idea-to-improve-steemit-com-s-signup-process
@riseofth proposed several things for Steemit 2018 Roadmap, something @timcliff is very involved with: https://steemit.com/roadmap2018/@riseofth/my-10-suggestions-to-improve-steemit-for-roadmap-2018

https://utopian.io/utopian-io/@abh12345/suggestion-utopian-io-add-standard-report-as-new-contribution-type
Example 5: Creating a Tutorial Guide to Understand different things about the Steem Blockchain
@tsugimoto created this excellent post with a full guide for Bitshares: https://steemit.com/bitshares/@tsugimoto/bitshares-a-colloction-of-developers-tutorial-faqs-and-more
@earthnation created a great tutorial to help minnows go though a way to become Dolphins: https://steemit.com/earthnation/@earthnation/introducing-a-simple-tutorial-for-earning-a-significant-income-on-steemit-the-steemit-minnows-guide-to-becoming-a-dolphin
@drakos made this great guide on tips and guidelines for voting for Witnesses: https://steemit.com/witness-category/@drakos/tips-and-guidelines-voting-for-witnesses
I (@gold84) created the 11 Chapter full Steemit guide (currently posted the first 9 Chapters that can be checked in the index of Chapter 9).
Example 6: Showing new users on the platform how to improve their work in the platform
@lukestokes has posted several things on how he believes people can have success on the platform. He is a strong believer on the power of relationships. This is a post from him I definitely recommend to check: https://steemit.com/steemit/@lukestokes/the-currency-of-steemit-isn-t-steem-power-steem-or-sbd
@extrospect has been doing great support for new steemians starting on the platform. Here is the post from @boddhisattva showing @extrospect doing this quality work for Steemit: https://steemit.com/bisteemit/@boddhisattva/top-200-effective-steemit-curators-who-are-actively-support-newcomers-with-reputation-below-55-for-the-last-week-2017-12-11-2017
@firepower made a great post on ways to improve relationships on the platform. This definitely helps people focus on valuable things that will help him make his way, and help the Steem Blockchain be a better place too. https://steemit.com/steemit/@firepower/let-s-talk-how-can-we-improve-engagement-on-steemit
@earthnation guide is a must check for this too: https://steemit.com/earthnation/@earthnation/introducing-a-simple-tutorial-for-earning-a-significant-income-on-steemit-the-steemit-minnows-guide-to-becoming-a-dolphin
Example 7: Supporting Projects that will help Steemit Grow in the Long Run
@steem-ambassador and #promo-steem created by @starkerz @stephenkendal and @anarcotech is a huge massive project that is made up of voluntarysts around the world sharing the word of Steemit hugely. This is a huge example of a project adding massive value to the Steem blockchain.
Here are 2 posts with videos that show how this great team uses its creativity to spread the word about Steem:
@minnowsupport project was designed to help minnows grow in the platform. More on this: http://minnowsupportproject.org/about/
@lukestokes writes about some important projects on the blockchain, and he explains why those projects are worth supporting: https://steemit.com/witness-category/@lukestokes/witness-delegation-plans-for-lukestokes-mhth
Example 8: Spreading the Word About Steemit and the Steem Blockchain
I wrote a post a few days ago with 2 interesting projects that are currently happening on the steem blockchain, that is changing the lifes of people.

We know there are many actions being done to promote steemit around the world. But this people are really building a Hub to give free internet and teach people that do not have a smartphone or a computer how to use Steemit, and helping understand about cryptocurrencies. Steem will be their route to freedom!
