I have always wanted to meet a fellow Steemian in person,it was a winderful experience as we talked about many things you will read below.
Whenever i could read other Steemian stories of how they met and connected with others,i would get jealous hahahha.
It should be noted that all the Steemians currently in our Uganda team were personally introduced by me(all the top leaders!),so this guy is the only one not directly affiliated to me!.
I had always wanted to see @nexilly and tried on multiple occasions but failed.I am glad i finally met him.
How we linked Up on Steemit
We had been talking for almost 3 months now(on whatsapp and Facebook and Steemit).I always keep checking on our Uganda tag to find new people who have joined Steemit.
I was glad when he used the Uganda tag and i commented on one of his posts of how we can meet(the meeting finally happens 3 months later!).
How This Meet Up Become Possible.
As i said earlier,i had always wanted to meet him so i have used every opportunity to meet him.
I called him/texted him the previous day of his program of Saturday(which was yesterday).I told him i will be in town and we could link up.
I had gone to print some flyers as i have an event to supply them to today(sunday).
After i had printed my flyers,i gave him a call and surprisingly he was available for the meetup.Truth be told,i waited for almost 1 and half hours for him to meet me,he nevertheless came.
What we talked About
We talked about many things obviously as we also got to know each other.
By the way i forgot to tell you, since it was a cold chilly evening,we looked for the nearest restaurant and ordered tea and some snacks.
We talked about Steemit in general and let me just list the things below.
- How Steemit had been to each of us so far
- He asked the golden question of how to withdraw money!
- How we each got to know About Steemit
- What my plans for Steemit Uganda are!
- What role he has to play in promoting Steemit to his university(Kampala International University,KIU).
- Challenges we have all faced on Steemit so far.
- How Steemit is growing in Africa and how we can play a role.
- High unemployment rates in Uganda and how Steemit can help!
- The different Steem Apps like Dtube,DSound,Utopian etc...
- The potential of Steemit in Uganda and the world as a whole.
- Why he needs to start promoting Steemit massively at his University.
- The connections(friends) he has so that we promote Steemit to them.
- The Great entbusiasm of promo-steem Nigeria(i draw inspiration from these folks).
- The need for another meet up soon and possible venue ideas.
- How i can help him in his promo efforts at his university.
- The reason people promote Steemit with much enthusiasm.
- The great opportunity Steemit is to Africa and Uganda as a country.
The list is endless as we talked for almost 3 fuckin hows! I had thought we would just talk for 45 mins.
I have realised there is a way i love talking about Steemit nonstop!
