The Steem Foundation has been created for the purpose of empowering, encouraging, energizing and earning (for) the less privileged, the youth and those working hard for the promotion of Steemit.
It was founded on the 21st of January through the generous mindset of @ofishea and @lonelyaya who are determined to eradicate poverty and make the world a better place using the Steemit platform
This account has been set aside to showcase charity works and empowerment programs identified with Steemit, done by Steem Foundation or other Steemit users. We believe one of the core ways in which we can spread Steemit across the globe and touch lives is by giving enough recognition and support to those on the promotion of Steemit in their various communities, countries or continents, through charity works, seminars, meet-ups etc.
The Steemit Foundation would be used for crowdfunding for Steemit users and charity donations for the less privileged.
What we do:
- Visit orphanage homes, hospitals, schools. Raise funds to support orphans, sick people and school pupils.
- Upvote and resteem post requesting support for charity works or for promotion of Steemit.
- Organize crowdfunding for Steemit users, for the promotion of Steemit or charity works in their community.
We set to operate using the promo-steem tag as we 100% support spreading Steemit to the world with one voice and one accord.
We intend to make this crowdfunding system as useful as possible and for hard working, serious minded and selfless Steemit promoters across the globe.

OUR FIRST PROJECT:
The Steem Foundation team has been in kogi state for about 2months now, kogi state is known to be one of the poorest states in Nigeria. It gets heart breaking when we see the low quality education they receive and in a non conducive environment. We intend to roll our first project to schools in kogi state, we just printed out 500 exercise books to be distributed to 2-3 schools in the state.
This is just the beginning as we are working towards printing 5000 copies of this exercise book and distributing to schools. With your encouragement we would achieve this in no time.
Touching lives and helping people should be a way of life all Steemians should adopt, @steem-foundation we are set to touch as much lives as possible.
