Stove v.4.0 is here
stir across the steamy pots
If that's what it takes me baby
To cook you a meal to eat...
with apologies to Micheal L Jones
The dead stove is gone, long live the new stove.
Above is the first meal i've cooked on the new stove and in the oven. Some call it a turkey dinner, I call it, testing the new toy
For the first meal, I wanted something I know well, and can see how the temperatures, and cooking times compare. Something I can time in my head and see where I need to make adjustments with the timing and temperature of the stove top burners, and the internal bake and broil of the oven.
Making the stuffing (above) stove top and then baking it, is something I can do blindfolded, so, temps and timing were easy to see...
... the Baked sweet potato (below) came out a bit under done, so, I know that baking might need a bit longer, in time.
All in all, the meal was easy and a joy to do... I think I will like my new stove/oven. Clean, fast and easy to use, it will fit in nicely in Chez Bluefy's Kitchen.
The only flaw with the night? I grabbed a baking dish, with an extremely thin and worn pot holder, so, as I was moving it to the sink my thumb was getting toastier and toastier... right up until I was airborne over the sink. I MAY have released it over the sink from a slightly higher altitude than planned.
