It's been a LOOO-O-O-ONG time since I tried running. I have been walking every day for the past year or more, with the odd ebike ride, but have rarely run, owing to various ongoing health issues. So I decided to go all the way back to C25K, Week 1, Run 1. Square one. I completed it OK although I'm carrying quite a bit more weight than the last time I tried it. The very slow section at the start is the warm-up walk. I made a concerted effort to push on the last minute to see what pace I could get up to once I had survived all of the earlier running minutes.
I was pleased to see that my last blast before Sarah Millican (my chosen voice-over) gave me the all clear to stop got up to 6.40 mins/km 😃. I imagined it was only around 7 at the time. It always makes me laugh when she says "have a small snack -- such as A BANANA" at the end, as if she thinks we'll all go off and chow down on some Black Forest Gateau as soon as we're done 😆
This song is towards the end of my running playlist, because it has a nice easy beat and a highly relevant message screamed out by my poor legs. "Sending out an SOS. Sending out an SOS..." 😝
