Yes, it's been sixteen days since I started using the Habitbull app, and something incredible seems to be happening...
For sixteen days in a row I've managed to maintain all five of the "daily habits" that I entered into the free version of the Habitbull app. I don't think I've ever managed so much consistency across such a range of activities.
Okay, so I managed to blog on CTPTalk for 30 days straight during the #3StepsNoExcuses challenge back in April, and I managed a similar consistency with the #2020Vision challenge way back in January 2020, BUT in each case I only had to maintain ONE habit, which was to blog on CTP Talk about whatever the task for the day was.
However, this feels different.
Firstly, I'm pursuing five goals that I have decided for myself and they cover four different aspects of my life that I'm trying to improve: my online business; my physical condition; my academic interests; my understanding of chess.
Secondly, I might have shown consistency in one activity for a while, but never in five all together! And I don't think I have ever done a physical workout, no matter how basic, for 16 days straight - not even during the #2020Vision challenge LOL!
The Psychological Trick Of Not Breaking The Chain!
For some reason, the "psychological trick" of "not breaking the chain" seems to work. The last thing I want to do now is to report that I failed to do one of the five tasks.
Add to that the additional "chain" of the #ctpcontent challenge that lasts 30 days, and the motivation to complete a blog post on CTP Talk is very strong.
Today Is A Good Example Of The Power Of The App!
For example, although today has been a pretty easy day for me (even though I was on an "intermittent fast" that lasted from dinner time last night until dinner time tonight), I really didn't feel like doing the 10 press-ups or the other exercises I do on either side of them when I got up this morning - but I did them anyway.
Then, tonight, getting this blog post written has been a real struggle. I am sure that if it were not for the Habitbull app and the 15 day chain that had not been broken, I would have skipped the physical workout this morning and hopped into bed tonight without having created any content.
So there you have it, folks, the Habitbull app seems to work, at least for me!
