She was so happy to make her first hive withdrawal but didn't anticipate what hit her.
I'm Sharing this story as a case study for newbees to learn.
A good friend of mine that use to go by the username @faithann let go of her hive account for a new one today. She lost the account because she lost her keys. All of them!
How so you'd want to ask? Apparently my friend didn't download her keys during registration. Before we judge her this was what happened.
She had hassles signing up with her own phone and so she had used her husband's phone for the process since his phone was more sophisticated.
Note that she attempted using her phone. However when she signed up successfully with her spouse's phone, she tactically login on her own phone and started blogging without putting much importance on the rest keys.
Meanwhile, her husband's phone either got formatted or she didn't download her keys. This hit her when she was ready to make her first cash out but couldn't find them. Alteast not the right ones.
Apparently my friend had made multiple attempts during registration and downloaded all key but the main one she eventually settled for. The risk of multiple attempts.
She had seeked for assistant from me for password recovery and I had explained to her how it goes. That without her private or master keys, the account is as good as lost.
She escalated to @Stayten and @KittyGirl but couldn't get it back since she doesn't have her keys.
Now she has to start afresh. She lost her dear @faithann account. She lost her blogs, activities, friends and most importantly her earnings.
She's back with the user name
@ozohu. Let's show her some love and support if we can.
Meanwhile, she is set as the beneficiary for this post and would receive the votes directly if any.
This post is dedicated to her and all newbies to learn from her mistake. I wish it gets to as many newbies as possible to further emphasize the importance of keeping the Hive keys safe and secure.
