Yes. I agree. And that’s exactly my dilemma. I’m teaching undergrads. I’m teaching subject matter for which extensive online commentary is already available. That means ChatGPT has a lot of source material to draw from.
I would be okay with students using online commentary to help inform their critical assessments of the subject matter.
The problem with ChatGPT is the fact that it can generate coherent content with near zero effort on the part of the student.
