Mini Motivation #122 - Ever Had a Vision That Scared The Shit Out O...

Let me ask you this: have you had this idea - this beautiful vision - that when you first saw it, you shivered? You feel that tingling down your spine, that surge of electricity across your arms, sending goosebumps. When you tell your friends and family about it, they would marvel at your unusually high level of enthusiasm, and that sparkle in your eyes when you speak, often more hurried than usual as well.

Sounds familiar? Looks like you had a cross between an epiphany, a moment of enlightenment and rush of passion.

Remember that high. Recall that euphoric moment. Do you still feel it now? Or like the many other of such moments, it has died down over time. Usually it's due to the naysayers, the skeptics, the non-believers, who did their best to make holes in your kite before it manages to catch the lift of the wind.

Or worse, were you the ones who made the holes.

You see, dreams often get shot down too early, and more often than not, we may be the one who allowed it. Sure, the attacks may come externally, but we gave in without putting up a proper defence. Other times, it was an act of a saboteur, killing the dream before you manages to put a smile on someone's face.

Yes, pursuing the dream can be risky - you may get hurt, you may lose it all, you may be embarrassed. But if you ask yourself honestly about that dream of yours, is it meant to be kept at the harbours of assumptions, or does it belong free on the sea of possibilities?

And your dreams could have been old, birthed in a time before you are used to be discouraged, a time when you say, "Let's start it tomorrow". Truth is, your dreams will never start tomorrow, because it must find it's roots today.

Start small - take your big dream and break it down into actionable steps, milestones you can check in with on a weekly or even a daily basis. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a simple step, and it's by the accumulation of this steps that distances will be covered, experiences will be gained, and dream will be made.

So today, take a step - a baby step even - to move towards your dream. After all, many, many years ago, you did once before: you took a step as a baby, and since then, you had been walking, running and even jumping.
