Faith vs unbelief step
The birth of one and a half years of birth is the belief versus the unbelief step. In this step of mental development, a child feels that he can not believe the world around him. Because in this step, a child gets care of his parents and relatives who help him to develop this feeling.
During this time a child is completely unable to do his job. She relies fully on her parents and her caregiver. What kind of care they receive from their parents and carers plays an important role in the formation of a child's personality. In this step, the child feels a clear idea about believing people around him. When the child is crying, are parents fulfilling his needs? When the child is scared, are parents giving him courage? Or when the child is hungry parents give him food?
A child understands that he does not have the ability to tell the people around him. So he weighs the attention of people around him. So tears play an important role in her.
So whenever the child needs any help, he draws the attention of everyone else. Depending on his food, safety, affection or any need, his parents or carers are quickly meeting his needs depending on his belief or mistrust. When this requirement is completed very soon, his belief in people around him is born. He understands that those who care about him can be trusted. And if his needs are not met like his needs, then his unbelief about the people around him is born.
And when a child thinks about the world, then the world feels secure to him.
Ericsson believed that at this time a person believes that the concept of unbelief is born, then it controls one person's behavior. A child who develops trust with a belief about the world around from infancy, afterwards, he develops trustworthy relationships with humans.
