Training your puppy isn't always an easy task, especially when you have a hyper breed like a Miniature Australian Shepherd. I have a 16 week Mini Aussie, her name is Freya and she weighs 16 pounds. I decided I wanted to keep a log on her focusing on her training and how she grows into a reliable and loving dog. Freya is a very loving dog who is very hyper, loves people, and always needs to be my mom's side.
She is 16 weeks and 6 days, Freya knows basic commands like sit, lay down, paw, roll over, come, and is working on stay. She walks extremely well off leash and stays close to me a majority of the time. Right now one of her biggest issues is reactivity. She tends to bark, lunge, and growl at other people and dogs on our walks. I don't think this is an aggressive tendency because if she ends up being allowed to approach the other people, she will stop barking and begin to wag her "tail", lick, and try to play. I haven't let her close to other dogs because I don't know how they are and I am afraid she might get snippy. As for potty training, she is doing well because we take her out every couple hours to prevent accidents and are hoping to see her get used to it and scratch at the door when she has to go.
Bad habits include chewing shoes and any paper she can get her hands on, playing too rough with her cat sister, and trying to eat the cat litter.
