We got this little guy on this friday. We looked around for some time for puppies. We first looked at a pet shop nearby, but they only had pomeranians for 18,000 php (360 usd) each. My daughter wanted one so she could name it Pom Pom, but I was dreading all the fur shedding as they are little, big fur balls.
Next we went to the local animal rescue called PAWS (Philippine Animal something..) They had 56 dogs and 478 cats! what's up with all the meows? They were some good looking dogs, but they were all medium to large sized dogs, and our condo only allows a small dog.. up to 18 inches. There was also an interview process as well as a home inspection that would require us to visit there 3 more times. Mostly, the reason we didn't get one of those doggies is that they would get too big or were already too big.. just not condo dogs.
Finally, we found this guy on some local online classifieds. He was one of two puppies for sale by private owner. He came with papers and has gotten 2/5 five puppy shots.

He is ohhhhh so cute and little and well-behaved mostly, but he does whine sometimes (loudly) and he likes to bite and pull the rugs and especially any paper he finds. I think we can survive that behavior. He is playful in short spurts (like 5 minutes at a time), but mostly he lies down (he prefers to be held) and is a sleepy head or just mellow. This is perfect for us since we are a not so active family. :P
