We had another great couple of PYPT sessions Thursday on the Steemit Ramble server. The two sessions, morning and evening, debuted on the Steem Star Network Radio
Some great posts presented, sparking some great conversation and people getting to know each other. A lot of fun had by all.
The purpose of PYPT is for Steemizens to bring along a recent post, share it with the assembled and talk about the post and their blog. We had a small group last night but some great sharing.
Here are the posts that were shared.
Why Are My Newest Friends on the Blockchain Trying to Get Me an Xbox One Using STEEM Earnings? What You Need to Know About @GSGaming and @PayWithSteem!

@rodeo670 aka SaipanDamashii was first to present his post. He talked about how he’d gone from no interest in watching live gaming streams to finding them great fun and interest. He met some new friends while doing so, some whom thought he needed to by an xBox1. To that end, they are helping to fundraise for it. Well written post.
Smelled Teh Frowers - Bahbahra Buddy Contest (Week 6)Entry

@molovelly was up next sharing with us an adventure her and her friend Dennis had while they were taking time to smell the flowers. She finally entered @tattoodjay’s Bahbahra contest. We had a discussion about the growing friendship between Dennis and Mo and the effect it is having on Rhoda. Poor Rhoda is getting so jealous.
WARNING! Do Not Make Transactions Using Bitcoin!!! ✋

@andyluy shared his post next. Some have noticed, and some aren’t really paying attention, that transaction fees using Bitcoin have shot up along with the value of the token. Along with those high fees is increasingly slower transaction times. Litecoin is a good route to take moving Steem out to an exchange other the Poloniex or Bittrex.
@andyluy also talked about some of the coins he has invested in over the last while and their performance. I had heard of but hadn’t taken much notice of the Canada ecoin. Looks rather interesting.
Bitcoin surpasses the market capitalization of Visa... Thoughts and Perspective...The future is embracing "Decentralization"

Bitcoin surpassed the value of gold earlier this year and now, @daudimitch reports this latest surge has it surpassing the market capitalization of VISA. Imagine that, a less than decade old cryptocurrency exceeding well established institutions like VISA. Anything is possible.
Shedding Light on Fantastic Curation Initiatives: Vol. 1

@ethandsmith presented his summary of three different curation initiatives which he follows with his voting trail. Each initiatives has a speciality area: encouraging non-native English speakers, promoting quality original content, new users with good intro posts and continued presence on the platform and introduceyourself post with low rewards towards user retention. Interesting posts on some focused efforts to highlight good content through real curation.
Entre un sueño y la vida

This post is written in Spanish. Although I usually expect posts to be presented with English available, this is an exception to the rule.
@guiltyparties is a hardworking witness who often brings us members who show potential on the platform but are receiving very little notice. Here are @guiltyparties comments on why he presented this post:
“Jesus is a guy I've gotten to know a while ago after he randomly dm'ed me asking for a vote. he's a good guy out of venezuela who writes about his country, life and that sort of thing. he has a few posts about working in an ice cream shop on his profile, not linked here but you can check them out if you look through it. some interesting perspectives on venezuela
yesterday he asked me if there's anyone else who would upvote posts via dm of people who are pretty much poor and can't return the handjob .. i mean favor back and in all honesty i couldn't think of anyone. most just flag when a dm is received”
My Village in India

@guiltyparties also brought this post to our attention. This is what he told us about this member:
“I met this chap yesterday, he was asking for a hand figuring out payouts in the help channel. we got talking and i directed him to nextgen's project 'speakyourmind'. we also had a chat regarding the kind of thing that should be posted for it to be considered quality and he went out and took this picture of his village in India. he's still waiting for a vote so any help would be appreciated by him.
these guys can't go out and write longass posts with high qual pics, they don't have the resources but doesn't mean their work is any less valuable”
The Truther

@hz432creations creates sound at 432Hz and then shares them. It’s an interesting project and well worth listening to the sound files he creates. Some interesting effects.

@otemzi writes a rather detailed review of Steepshot which is like the STEEM Instagram. It’s very well laid out and informative. In fact, it’s informative enough, I’ve added it to the Posts That Rock channel on the Steemit Ramble.
I Believe in Steem - Five things I can do to help steemit grow

@pennsif presented next with a post which reviews his journey on the platform. I particularly loved this quote:
“Like most people on the platform I went through the phases of initial boundless enthusiasm, gradual realisation of the reality, a brief period of resentment, a growing sense of doubt, a gradual understanding of the actuality... And then the enlightenment.”
He concludes the post with five ways he, and any other member, can help STEEM grow. This isn’t just a platform to get paid for writing on, it is an investment in the cryptocurrency STEEM which we mine everytime we produce quality content which others support.

Canadian eCoin A promising undervalued crypto

@andyluy presented this post about his experience with Canadian eCoin and his suggestion it is an undervalued crypto. @andyluy is Brazilian and succeeded in making this Canadian aware of something she didn’t know was around. Nicely done @andyluy.
[FICTION CONTEST] Christmas Day in 2050 - write a diary entry - 20 SBD to be won

@pennsif announced his new contest which will be a diary style entry for Christmas Day of 2050. Or, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, you can opt for a New Years Day. The winner will be announced December 20th and the prizes are quite nice.
Replacing my Surface Pro 3 screen

@gmuxx shared with us his recent experience with his Surface Pro 3 overheating and cracking on him. He pondered what his best options were to deal with this problem and finally decided what to do.
Twenty posts were presented at the morning session and as usual some very interesting conversation on a range of topics sparked by the contents of the various posts.
Don’t forget, you can visit the Steemit Ramble discord at anytime. When you share the post of another Steemizen in the nominate-someones-post channel you will get access to another channel nominate-your-post. I regularly review those two channels for potential posts to share in the Steemit Ramble.
If you are two busy to share, there is a post promotion channel. I might look in there some day. Steemit is about sharing and building community.
