Welcome to QuarkChain weekly report (published May 8, 2018). To keep the community updated, we summarize our latest progress and activities of the QuarkChain project here.
Marketing and Community
1）Telegram group and Twitter
The twitter account has already grown to more than 11,000 followers by May 7. Due to the needs for cleaning a significant amount of robots/spams, we have shut down Telegram for a whole day. However, the number of community members in Telegram Group has been increasing fiercely after the reopening, which is more 70,000 members currently. Members in the group have said that it’s quite impressive for QuarkChain to influence so many people without any external help. We sincerely appreciate the vigorous support all community members have provided to the program.
2）Weekly Q&A
We held the team’s second Q&A session on Chinese and English Telegram and the Wechat Groups this weekend. It was quite an event! The community members had a lot of pleasant interactions with the team. We expect more people to participate the Q&A session and get to know Quarkchain Network better.
3）The Ranking Lists
Among the top rankings overseas, our program has won the first Grand Slam by being on the top listing.
4）Technical Meeting at Berkeley, CA
QuarkChain team’s founder and CEO, Dr. Qi Zhou, has given a live-video presentation in Berkeley, CA on May 4th evening. In his presentation, he has introduced QuarkChain’s essential facilities, the design mechanism, the first intention of development, and the progress of developing and also the testnet’s display. This is the first time we broadcast the live meeting to the world, and received very positive feedbacks. We have decided to use live broadcasting technology periodically to interact with you.
5）Bounty Plan Released
We have released the bounty plan this week. We have received thousands of emails from community members from all over the world for White Paper’s translation part. People have posted videos and articles of their opinion about QuarkChain program on the social group. The community has shown their enthusiasm, and the QuarkChain team genuinely appreciates all members’ participation. Now we have stopped the applications for White Paper’s translation; however, all community members are very welcome to keep contributing articles and videos as the deadline of Bounty plan is the 15th of May (more detailed information is available at Steemit article). QuarkChain’s improvement has been attributed by every community member’s contribution.
6）Press Report
Multiple media such as CSDN,Techweb,互金杂谈,至诚财经网 ,etc., have had special reports on QuarkChain Network. Furthermore, there are some coin-presses like 巴比特, cointime, 币世界, who have also reported on
Development Progress
1）The development team has implemented most of the intra-cluster RPCs that are used to synchronize the blockchain states among the master and the slave nodes in a cluster so that a cluster behaves like a full node in the network.
2） A test framework has been built for testing cluster code. The structure can start an arbitrary number of clusters with a flexible configuration of the number of shards, slave nodes, etc. The test framework will make sure our code is well tested before going into production. Right now the structure is mainly used to test the intra-cluster RPCs mentioned earlier.
3）The development team has also introduced an HTTP based JSON RPC server and implemented a few basic JSON RPCs. Through these RPCs and the ones to be added, the developers can build wallet, explorer, create and run smart contract on QuarkChain Network. A test framework is also attached to test all the JSON RPC.
