So far I've managed to schedule an interview at Herr foods next Tuesday (I got a call back!) and read an awesome book my friend suggested to me.
Oh, and tapping the alternator with a rubber mallet DID knock the brushes around enough to get it working again. It's a temporary fix, but cheap.
